Hey everyone, I’m having some issues with my computer’s memory and could really use some advice. My specs arr a Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz), an RTX 2070 Super, Samsung 970 Evo NVMe SSD, and an MSI B550 Tomahawk motherboard. Lately, I’ve been experiencing frequent crashes and blue screens, and Task Manager shows my memory usage spiking randomly even when I’m not doing anything intensive. I’ve run MemTest86, and it’s coming up clean, so I’m not sure if it’s a faulty stick or something else. I've never dealt with sone something like this so any tips on troubleshooting or fixes would be greatly appreciated!
>>
>>108777449
consider natural rubber, silicone, or high-quality not chinesium cloth with a smooth coating, those are less likely to disintegrate or cause allergic reactions.
>>
>>108777243
"SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION" with win32kbase.sys failing usually points to some driver or system file issue, but since it’s not even showing the logo or letting you boot into safe mode, it could be hardware related too. First, try resetting your BIOS/CMOS—unplug the PC, take out the battery or use the jumper to clear CMOS, then see if it boots. If that doesn’t work, pull out the RAM sticks and test them one by one, or try booting with just one stick. Also, disconnect all peripherals and see if it’s a hardware conflict. If nothing helps, it might be your motherboard or CPU, but it’s worth checking the RAM and GPU first. If you have spare parts or a friend with some try swapping shit till something works

I'm really wavering on what monitor to get.
>MSI MPG 341CQR
Addresses the problems with qdoled text, black handling, and fragile coating, highest refresh rate but only 3440x1440. Also I'm not sure how to feel about ultrawide oled because 16:9 content will cause the side areas to wear differently.
>Asus ROG Strix OLED XG32UCWMG
4k, more vertical space and better blacks but not as good colour volume. Don't know how to weight the non standard pixel arrangement against the pixel density.
>Samsung Odyssey Neo G95NC
Huge, best brightness, and sidesteps any anxiety about burn in but is fucking expensive. I'll have to crank the upscaling for the foreseeable future. Only has a 1 year warranty.

I do a lot of non-gaming content consumption on my desktop so I'm not sure if it's time to make the switch to oled or not.

I saw the PSU guide and based on it the seasonic noctua seems to be pretty good. Seasonic releases a PSU later this year with some melt guard but no further information so not sure if I should wait. super tldr: mouse switches are driven with too low voltage and amps so they fail early

I was vaguely aware of this but I though it was just the switches that were bad and that the old switches were just better. Actually no, the old switches were pretty much the same they just drove those with higher voltage and amps so they developed less problems. Newer mice try to save power, want higher polling rates and other trendy features so they moved to more advanced chips that also run on lower voltage. But many of the switches were not meant to be ran like this.
The worst of all is probably that the mouse makers seem unaware, uninterested and incompetent.

I bought razer basilisk v3 before watching this video, it has 'optical switches' so they should last but the rest of the mouse will probably break in two months.

both games look better with rt off because rt got added after the fact. pathtracing is just ai raytracing. the image is also very unstable with both.

the image is unstable without pt because of not being able to have infinite light sources and shades on the screen so they pop in as you drive

Is it normal that OLED doesn't really look any better than my old IPS in bright, colorful content? Yeah of course in something with a lot of contrast the OLED is noticeably better.
>>
>>108778490
are you using SRGB on both screens? because SRGB does limit the colours that your OLED panel can display
>>
>>108778499
Yes, both set to SRGB
>>
>>108778513
that is why the oled does not look better, it's colour space is being limited I actually use the "standard" preset on my QD oled monitor because I prefer the more vibrant colours, even if it is not quite as colour accurate
>>
>Liquid Freezer 3/Pro (unhandy mounting solution)
did they ever fix this or is this only for intel? Any similar AIO Performance wise? Can have a display as long as it doesn't require some software to run.
>>
>>108778490
ips panels can push brightness up, even with edgelit panels
but they cant do contrast, so what you need is oled set to hdr, max brightness, watch hdr content with blacks and bright colors at the same time and it'll be okay
>>
So there is no reason to get Intel since the sockets are dead and AM5 will have new CPUs in the future? I am trying to put together a small upgrade with CPU and Motherboard and ram and was looking at the Core Ultra 270k but most review sites say to avoid it.
>>
>>108778690
its a question of how much do you need multicore perf
270k is insane value for productivity.

rumous say am5 gets zen 6 + zen 7 cpus so updates until 2028, if you spend 400€ on modern am5 x3d cpu you might not want to upgrade in the next couple years anyway and 270k makes more sense if you use those cores

you can wait until next year and see if intel pushes out a new mobo platform with good value cpu and buy that
>>
It may be time to antitrust NVidia.
>>
>>108778718
I have a 5090 and usually use the GPU for everything like media encoding so CPU isn't that used. Looking at 4k Benchmarks there is like a 10-20fps difference between all the CPUS.
>>
>>108778741
>media encoding
they say you shouldnt use gpus for encoding because the cpu software encoding has better quality, gpu encoding is meant for streaming or something instead of archival

270k is best cpu for encoding

yeah for gaming the differences are hard to spot, most people would want 16 core x3d but it costs double from intel

Likely not gonna happen.
Nvidia as a company is shitty but they never actually engaged in uncompetitive behavior from what I've seen.
Even their treatment of partners can't really be prosecuted because Nvidia to my knowledge never excluded anyone from making AMD based products and if you don't like the way Nvidia treats you, you stop integrating their products.

You can't exactly punish a company for what is the desire of customers or the ecosystem created. You can scream about how unfair CUDA is but the reality is you're not forced to use it.
>>
>>108778917
your IMC was built for DD5
>>
>>108777336
This but unironically. I didn't even look at Nvidia cards because the feeling of doing a fresh Xubuntu install and the GPU working flawlessly out of the box is priceless. Looking at Nvidia now the RX 9070 XT is still the best value for me. The RTX 5070 TI is too marginal to warrant the price and the 5080 is double the price which wouldn't make sense either. If I was on Windows and the 5080 was at MSRP I would have gone with that but that's not the world we live in.
>>
>>108778942

It's "faster" in the sense that it makes lighting look better for cheaper than actually increasing the number of light rays traced.
>trace 100 light rays without ray regeneration at 80 fps

>trace 100 light rays and use ray regeneration for a quality increase similar to tracing 200 light rays at 60 fps
60 > 20, so RR is "faster" than no RR.

>>108779777

It's a shitty gigabyte, so it's probably the board.
But everything I've read seems to say 3600c14 should be ezpz on b-die at 1.45v.

You mean 24GB.
Whatever might of been the plan ain't happening in this ram economy and the cheapest way out is to just drop the module density.

BSOD is critical hardware/driver error. It only happens when things go so wrong that halting the system on the spot is the only option available.
Can the UEFI settings be reset/switched to different "BIOS" and can the computer be booted into the UEFI interface is it just straight up black screen and nothing else?

It's impossible to tell what's bricked without testing the parts, but motherboard is a pretty good bet if it doesn't give any debug codes nor can it boot to the UEFI interface. I think the only other thing beside motherboard that can brick the computer to a point where you can't get a display but also won't get any debug codes from the motherboard is the GPU.
