How does anyone here deals with reviewing massive amounts of slop in pull requests? Every time I sit down to see the huge garbage output that juniors and mid seniors produce with claude code I cannot help but to get angry with these fucks. And it is so plentiful too, I really prefer how it was before AI and claude code came.

It was a script dummy. Recruiters auto send these messages to thousands, if not millions. You aren't special. You were just on the email/targeting list.

Have you ever gone to Carl's Jr/Jack in the box, and a prerecorded message plays, " Would you like to try our new Whopper/Churro special?" Then the real drive thru attendant talks after. Well, you just fell for it. And if you fall for it, you are generally not hiring material.

Just got a job offer to be a Scrum Master for $4k/month leading a team of 10 devs. Even though my current sysadmin gig pays $7k, I’m thinking about just saying 'fuck it,' taking the new role, and moonlighting for a while
I mean, it’s a fucking Scrum Master job
I’d basically just be a Chad hosting these crappy ceremonies. Sysadmin used to be comfy work, but it’s starting to become a pain in the ass. I’m looking for something cushy in management (kind of like jewish daycare) and this role feels like a solid stepping stone into that career.

Brazilians love debtmaxxxing
>>

>>
>>108827000
I don't know any websites as I'm not into cars... but looking at websites you'll probably only get the raw prices which isn't very accurate to our reality
In Brazil, cars are much more expensive relative to income than in the US because normalfags here people cannot pay cash, so over 50% of cars are bought using 48-month or 60-month financing. It is standard to put 35% down and finance the remaining 65%. Due to high interest rates, the total amount paid by the end of the loan often approaches double the car's sticker price.
Also EVERYTHING that is considered a luxury in Brazil is taxed at 100% of its original value
>WHAT?
Yup
Some of the most popular cars in 2025 here were these pieces of shit and look at the cost:

Fiat Strada raw value: $23,000.00 + financed value: $14,950.00
Volkswagen Polo raw value: $21,000.00 + financed value: $13,650.00
Hyundai HB20 raw value: $18,000.00 + financed value: $11,700.00
>>
>>108827047
Thanks for the reply. Its nightmare tier there. I take it the fact that your on the atlantic side of the ocean is why shit is so much more expensive but then again shipping shit through mountains of Peru/Chilli probably doesn't help that fact either. Suez Canal is limited and going through argentina is luck based so everything has got to be stupid expensive.

i have been assigned to a modernization project (oracle to snowflake) and I literally have no idea whats going on most of the time. We have meetings with the client on which they use proprietary terms which I cant use chatgpt to understand. The team lead just gives me super simple tasks like raising access for a server or converting a simple oracle procedure to snowflake or editing some excel sheet. I work at a different branch of the company while the rest of them work at a different branch so I can't just get up and go to their desk to ask questions either. And most of the time my other teammates dont reply to me on teams to help. Feeling really stuck here as I don't really understand the work and no one is willing to help
freshman btw
>>
>>108827061
Actually, geography and shipping routes barely touch the final price in Brazil.
What really drives prices up is the tax stack (import duty + IPI, PIS/COFINS, ICMS, luxury surcharge) plus Brazil’s structurally high interest rates.
The government deliberately treats cars and electronic imports as a major revenue stream, so between heavy taxation and multi-year financing that often doubles the sticker price, logistics barely matter compared to how much they extract from buyers.
>>

Nobody buys cars in cash in the US either. Most can't, but even those who could do it generally take out the worst possible loan anyway.

>boss invites me to a meeting with a client without giving me any context

Literally gave me 1 minute to prepare, I joined the meeting, got along well with the client, showed my projects and then made a dumb comment (I said she looks like Miss Marple and she actually chuckled)
after the meeting I got chewed out for over an hour by my boss to NEVER say shit like that to our clients ever again

Networking bro. You are entering a harder market obviously. Comptia Certifications A/Net/Sec+ should easily land you a helpdesk job. Within 2-3 years of suffering you should've gained CCNA and some random server admin certification then you can consider applying for NOC positions. However with competition out there alot of the people we have hired have Bachelors degree's now. If you want to get into engineering then you need 5ish years of NOC experience, CCNP/Redhat/AWSorAzure certification and a Masters degree. CS degrees are still prefered but its not a make and break most times.

Been a SWE for 5 years, just got a new job at a dude's startup, and I'm starting to hate him.
>if he think i'm taking too long on something, he goes and does it for me (usually ends up being unmaintainable chatgpt slop which i then have to clean up)
>he wrote his entire tech stack in T-SQL: business logic, backend web server for generating HTML, persistence layer, all stored procedures in an mssql database, all spaghetti. when I try to nicely tell him that this is a terrible idea that won't scale, and we shouldn't be using SQL to, for example, drive our UI; he doesn't listen
>constantly dropping new requirements and features ("hey i just thought of X, the customer didn't ask for it I just thought of it so go drop what you're doing and add it to Y, thanks!")
Perhaps the worst part is that he is treating me like a year 0 junior when I've been programming as a hobby for over 10 years (5 years professionally)
>tells me i need to do testing and tells me exactly how and when to test
>goes on long tirades about programming and how it ought to be done
>explains simple, common topics to me like I'm a toddler
OH, almost forgot:
>me: "We should meet with the customer and clearly define requirements and scope before this next project"
>him: "Nah we'll be fine"
>two weeks later: "I read this book that said we should clearly define requirements and scope before projects. Drop what you're doing and write documentation"

I'm still processing the whiplash of going from unemployed to being employed.

3 months ago I was getting by eating rice and beans, living in filth in my neet den and praying my 12 year old PC doesn't die on me.

Now I got a company macbook pro, a new high end PC that can run anything, more money than I know to spend, and I can go and buy a cart-full of groceries every day of the week without thinking twice about my budget.

I know that I should be incredibly happy right now but I honestly feel nothing. I arrive to the office and stand around with my coworkers and managers discussing the current tact and sprint and this and that and I just think to myself how the fuck am I suddenly here actually in the middle of this group of people in this billion dollar office when only a few months ago I was rotting inside my apartment in unemployment.

I don't think any of this made sense I'm just feeling really strange bros.

Not realistically. Once people solidify their impressions on you it's almost impossible to change them. This often is for the better, since if you manage to sell yourself positively to a group/person/manager, you can coast off of that forever.
In your case things went the other way, so unfortunately you will be stuck in the mud for the rest of your time there.
I'd say just survive there as long as possible while actively searching for jobs in other places. If you remain competent they won't fire you regardless of how much shit they give you.

it makes sense to not feel much about it other than the intermittent epochs of change in your life. if you werent feeling thankful that would be something to be concerned about. being a poor neet sucks dick and escaping it is truly something to be thankful about.

Not to mention the hate any form of education. Traditionally you get roughly 1/4th of the content from a degree but a decent amount of writing/research to backup the workplace ticket flow. Then you could do bootcamps for certifications if you really like college style education either paid by employer or your parents that sometimes lead to a job but often did if you had a cert at the end of it. Then certifications themselves while not perfect taught you the job material better than a degree with a hint of application baked into each cert. Then in our position homelabs/VM's can backup your resume experience/bullet points.

Hell at this point i am fine with them skipping the degree they can learn alot of that shit at work including theory from a good boss/coworker but i need them to explore these topics formally or informally so they don't send me garbage like they have done since the start of covid.
>>
>>108829448
Overall went well I think.
I flubbed when asked whether or not you can decrypt using a public key in asym encryption (said no) but think I recovered when they brought that up later and I acknowledged the error and added that you can't decrypt the same encrypted message with the public key used to encrypt initially.

if you dont have your shit figured out at your late teens its over
>>
You are given 4 years to do whatever you want and you'll be given 150k annually. How would you spend most of your days? Doing gamedev?
>>
>>108830545
Whatever I want? I wouldn't be working then
>>
>>108830545
I get paid that now and can barely function. If i could do the same without work it would be fixing up the house, paying off the house and training for the next job. Super chill after the 1st year

Yes, yet they hired me afterwords.
I froze on "describe a TCP handshake" for a sr level job

lmao if you're a zoomer your life is already over at 25. You either made it / you're on track to make it, or you're stuck in the downwardly mobile permanent underclass.
You have two career trajectories, one side of success and the other a living hell

Successful zoomers by age 25 are:
>rich off a hustle (selling drugs / onlyfans / fraud)
>making six figures at some SF startup / ai company / faang / f500
>doing a masters or phd or law degree in an employable field

If none of those apply to you, welcome to the permanent underclass. You have no job prospects. Everywhere you could have worked with dignity has been offshored or automated. Midsize companies will not hire you, neither will large corporations. You will work for $30k a year until you die or quit. You will never own a home, get laid, or have a family. Your life will take one of a few tracks (all are shit):
>unemployed or disability or welfare fraud
>some variant of manual labor / warehouse worker
>climbing the soulless corpo ladder and being abused by gen x and boomers for $30k a year (you will never go higher than 70k, ever)
>joining the military and catching drones
>suicide

lmao @ millennials thinking they have a chance at 33.

Early career doesn't matter, you won't take the effort to learn these things on the job gpt zoomer. You either know it now or you never will

Going back to school for an EE degree so I can work in embedded

But I don't know how much they get paid. That's also a paycut for me now, so I suppose I wouldn't take the deal.
>>
>>108830607
Alot less than IT. EE/Physics only pays well in Aerospace(overly saturated so get your PhD) or Radar/RF/Satcom(PhD = God = Real deal fucking money 200-300k+)
>>
>>108830485
Yea. I did crypto/hardware security in grad school (like fault injection, oscope snooping) and then the interviewer asked me about operational security concepts and I totally fucked it up

Profoundly ironic post. Look you dumb shitstain, just go ahead and google it.
>>
>>108830607
I work at faang with ee grad degree, make same amount as the swes. My manager claims it's hard to hire people, not many people apply, but I don't know if that's true or not

There are so many times you can replay quake 1 and red alert 2 or jazz jack rabbit.

Is it better to have a solid "overview" of different tech stacks, ip protocol, os etc rather than be a someone who is really good at object oriented patterns, knows all the syntax of a particular language today with ai? I feel like deep diving in a particular stack seems pretty wasteful compared to just getting a strong intuition.

I've only been working for a year now but I feel like just responding to emails/teams messages punctually and thoroughly puts you like so damn far ahead in the workplace regardless of what your actual work output looks like
>>
>>108830901
It will eventually get to the point where you can't do that, or else you'll end up putting off your actual work to help other people. You'll think
>Oh I'm being so helpful to everyone! Surely this is great for me!
But your manager will see you not getting your tasks done on time, or not taking on enough tasks.

>technical interview
This is why I don't wanna get into tech either now I remember
seems like more effort and pain having to jestermaxx to get a shit job
yeah this field seems like cancer
>>
please God just kill me
>>
>>108830981
Literally the jesteriest field ever, my friend in mech eng had his phone screening where they checked his pulse, then interview with the manager where they just talked about the field, then hired. Meanwhile we go through 4 rounds and then get discarded, and it ain't money coz he was paid the same as me.
>>
I have never so much as heard of a technical interview question that was related to something you might do at a job.
It's all bizarre gotcha questions.

Just like the dating market. If you have a job(GF/Wife) you are suddenly valuable, ICK you are desperate to feed/house yourself. If you are younger than 30yr you wont get poon becuase ICK inexperienced.

uh you can predict tabular data, categorical or continuous, with supervised learning, you can find what groups there are for unlabeled data with clustering which is unsupervised learning, and you can use neural nets to classify images and make chat bots.
