Why is ea500lm so mid, bros?
Why are cords so shitty? I have to replace them every 3 months it feels like? Is it my fault?

I have a pair of Moondrop Kato IEMs and I would like to try something else for fun. Are these Linsoul ZiiGaat Horizons decent? Is my $10 Amazon USB-C splitter to charger/3.5mm jack more than enough for them (they're low impedance), or should I pay another $30-50 for a better (balanced?) DAC?Music listened to is mostly classical and "prog rock".Reviews read okay for what I'm after. The near "monitor"-like sterility isn't a terrible thing in my book, since I'm not looking to change the presentation of the source material in a big way.Any and all advices appreciated in advance.
>>108839358since you are ordering from amazon you can return if you don't like. give em a shot, pretty good. i don't love the shell fit, but maybe it works fine for your ears. at the level of iems like kato and horizon, i suggest a dongle more in the $40-$80 range over $10 ones.maybe even a bt dac or pmp, which almost always also work as usb dacs.

I'd also have to spend another $10 on a USB-C splitter to plug this thing into if I want to charge my phone simultaneously. I suppose I can return if it doesn't suit me, but any and all advice is welcome.
>>108840069>is picrel any good?yes.
I have a pair of DT1990 pros and want to try out IEMs, What price range should I consider when looking to outperform or at least match the performance of my current headphones? Usage would be just gaming, I have been looking at the r/iems guide and I like the look of Sigmot supermix 4 and Arete II, any other guides to look at?
>>108840338>yesWe'll find out!
Have not seen a headphone general in a while so I'll post here. My HD555's finally kicked the bucket after 16 years of service so I'm looking for a replacement. >Budget$1000AUD >Intended use (media, source, environment)Movie watching, Gaming including RockSmith, General PC audio>Frequency response preference and music examplesI was generally happy with the 555s, I could possibly go for a better bass response. >Past gear and your thoughts on them555's with Focusrite Audio interface - Audio was OK, loved the comfort and open sound, Sony XM4's, Audio is fine, Normal use it in the office and outside. While the 555s are out I'm also using it on my PC and I'm finding the audio a bit tinny with the ANC off and a bit oppressive with ANC on. Jabra Elite 7 Pro, basically only use in bed for white noise.
>>108840069Some anon reported problems with 4.4 on his unit, but balanced is a meme anyway.>>108836461Kunten is already stealth revised lol.
>used MH1C for over 10 years>left earphone is finally dying>start to look into replacements>totally out of the loop>buy some cheap Sony's>Tim Buckley sounds like he's singing outside of the house>can't hear shit unless I crank them
I love how the Explorer is basically a refined version of the FH3>similar overall tonality, relaxed low-gain V>no "cat ears" around the pinna gain, making layering more coherent>no masker peak at ~12k>a tad less midbass for cleaner sound, doesn't take away the warmth, doesn't have to balance out the treble due to its smoothness>less wonky ~1.5k>still has all the hallmarks that make the music sound fun: subbass focus, 1-2k bump for body and texture, ~7k bump for excitementfor me it's a worthy upgrade
>still chilling with my Final Audio E3000 6 years laterhave i gone deaf or is there a better option now, i really like how it sounds
>>108841774you've gone deaf
Never had IEMs before but got a pair of Truthear Pures along with an M21 last week and holy shit they're good. I could potentially be in the market for something with a similarly warm sound profile but with better clarity, maybe something planar. What options are out there? Let's say budget is $200-300.
>>108844137>warm but with better clarityyou probably want a mild V-shape tuning
>>108843683Truthear Pure if you like warmth, but the E3000 comfort is hard to beat.
>>108844287will check that out, thanks.
>>108841678>balanced is a meme anyway.false. plenty of people report "harder to drive" iems constantly.

Castor Pros died.I need a new pair, what's the flavour of the month?Don't really care for the sound signature, I just want them to be clear.I've previously owned Aria 2, Aria 2 Snow and the Simgot EW300 based on recommendations here (I'm sure there's been others too).
