Frozen shit is cheap (a frozen pizza containing hundreds of calories costs a few dollars) fresh produce e.g. a pack of bell peppers costs a similar amount but has a fraction of the calories (even though they can be used as an ingredient across multiple meals). If you are a fatty who can't / won't cook the cheap frozen shit would be more appealing than buying fresh ingredients and cooking them yourself despite the fact that the latter option is healthier and cheaper over the long term.
