Has anyone here moved from a 2160p display to a 1440p one, and if so, how did that fare for you? For reference, my current rig has a:>9070XT and 7900Xwith a>32" 3840x2160p@144Hz IPS displayBeen seeing the latest 5th gen 34" OLED ultrawides, and they look cool, but I don't know if it'll be that awkward moving back to (3440x)1440p. I haven't even seen 2560x1440p for over four years now, so I have no idea. It'd be great to have an easier-to-run res and higher refresh rate limit, but I don't know if it'd be a blurry eyesore or not. Though, the ultrawide immersion sounds like a fun change of pace, and a more responsive experience would be really nice.

>>109503517I'm aware of importance of PPI and scaling. My old monitor several years ago was a 27" or 25" (I don't remember) 2560x1440p display. You'd think the PPI would be good enough, but I felt compelled to upgrade to a 32" 3840x2160p display back then because Asiatic text was getting garbled without like 150% text scaling, which was bad for my work. Except now, the greater predicament for me is what games will look like when dealing with ~110PPI (the 34") vs ~138PPI (my current 32"). I'm used to this resolution now after all.

>>109513033Some software are hardcoded for hyper threading like thatThey're probably wrongly assuming core 0 and core 1 are the same physical core and share resources but are causing both of your non hyperthreaded cores to keep hitting L3 cache to pass data to each other which has a larger latency cost and causes stutters

>>109512960>32" is too large for 4K.t. have-not
>>109513463Wow stop being a pedantic retard. The performance from turning off hyperthreading was more than just clock speed because once upon a time I overclocked the CPU to 5.0GHz all cores on water cooling, all 16 threads enabled. The games that saw better performance were all massive multiplayer games. I saw an average 15 fps gain in extremely heavy CPU bound scenarios with HT off and 5.0GHz vs HT on with 5.0GHz. Not making the physical core share cache with a HT thread helped.
