reminder that Moondrop spring tips are very good, until they rip apart after taking them off and putting them on several times.
very grippy, just a little too thin for long term, constant tip rolling.
anybody have experience with both Dunu S&S tips and spring tips and know which are any better?
>>
>>109894715
I had pack of SnS tips and I didnt like them that much. Normal bulb shape work better for me. S&S on bigger sizes were just way too big for my ear canal, finger thick and they aren't as rounded at the end so there is 0 chance for seal with them if your ear canal isnt that big. Smaller sizes (S to M) are better, smallest one is bit like sleve on your nozzle, u can insert it deep and it will work as seal between nozzle and ear canal. Bigger one is something in the midle but it also worked for me.

They are better than dunu candy tips, they were too rigid. That iem was bitch to fit and don't lose seal every 10 s and tips that worked for me were some kind of soft silicon bulb shape ones. Bit in style of moondrop spring tips but I dont know brand. And guess what, it also tore after few swaps.
>>
Speaking of eartips, Which recommended eartips that has soft stem? I never really fancy spinfit because they have rigid stem, my ear hurts after using it for a hour or two with rigid one.

Looking to buy my first pair of cheap IEMs, are the Kiwi ears cadenza good enough? Or should I go with the truthear gate as the FAQ mentions, they are pretty much the same price on Aliexpress

>>

I have KBEAR KB01 which is supposedly the exact same thing as Cadenza from a different brand, in a very slightly different shell. I don't like it all.

Personally, I enjoy Kinera Celest Wyvern much, much more. Comfiest IEM I ever had (although that might be a bit hit and miss depending on one's ear shape) and sounds really good to me.

>>109898969
>>109899206
I should've also mentioned that aside from KB01 I also have the Gate, and from the two I definitely prefer the Gate. But between Gate and Celest Wyvern, I'd take Wyvern anytime.

samson SR850 and whatever was the /g/ recommended giant killer from before that, it were some "monitor" headphones, like 10 years ago or more kek
I liked both

I'd prefer some closed back if that stops sound from leaking out a bit better.
Will be using them only in my room
also 3.5mm is a must
>>
>>109901143
Few options for closed back headpos under 200, I have the fiio ft1 which is quite popular for this criteria, it's a good all rounder. First batches had QC issues like mine, new versions allegedly fixed. You could also look into Adam Audio H200, haven't heard it myself, check out reviews which point out some issues, but I own Adam Audio speakers and they're killer so I have some confidence in the brand. More options if you are willing to do open backed headpos, theres HD6XX but you need to EQ in bass, and Hifiman is having fire sales on their earlier planars like Sundara and XS

stupid lying chink, new "genuine leather" pads have real leather only on face side, outside and mounting ring is some kind of plastic shit
>>
>>109903274
prove it homeboy
>>
>>109903469
I mean material feels different, is really smooth and thin. Mounting ring is 100% plastic with some sort of thin cloth layered under. But outside feels that way too. Face side looks like leather, but still, thinner than my other chink pads. I dont know, it feels like other pads i bought were better quality. This one is in style of ZMF Caldera pads with angled inner wall made out of suede, faceside is leather with perf (but its much thinner than my other pads), outside is leather without any perforation. Im not sure about leather part tho, smells weird, feels thin, cross-section at the perforation points is gray, whereas in other pads i have color more closely resembles animal leather there, also they smell different. Maybe its leather but worse grade and dyed with something else

Sound is ok tho.

>>109903681
that's probably better
real leather is too thick and stiff for inner walls, fucks up the FR
I don't really get the fenestrated face and suede inner wall combo though
>>
>>109903924
>get the fenestrated face and suede inner wall combo though
It is some sort of ZMF caldera pads copy. Treble is bit muted vs what ive used, cymbals went back and they are more in background rather than near your face. Also 15k+ region is bit less and that was my main issue with old pads. I like them.

Honestly, it’s amazing that the chinks haven’t yet cloned their entire lineup of pads despite cloning ZMF Atrium, Verite and Calderas. You can easily find a few specific models, but the broad variety of pads offered by ZMF is missing. The problem is that ZMF pads are five times more expensive and, for the most part, hard to get in the EU.

And if u have 100mm planar they are really nice for tuning them.

Jcally pj3 arrived. Some hiss with test tones but less than on ja11 and far less than on jiezi. And it actually scales with volume so with music it's fine. Speaking of volume, it has that apple dongle thing where it doesn't start with full hardware volume, use android 16 or tinymix. No clicks and pops so far, even when you disconnect it. No slow fade in. Crosstalk above average, couldn't make it play anything audible through the other channel. Haven't tested PEQ yet. Will keep it in my DAC arsenal.
>>
>>109904114
Good morning, saar.
>>
>>109893106
I got these newfangled IEM thingies u kids like and I have to keep them at like 4 volume on Windows wtf. Also one of my IEMs make a hissing sound on my laptop, but not on my phone or PC, but my other IEMs dont make that hissing sound on laptop. Kinda sad cuz thats my fave IEM. Is there anything I can do? Is there a good portable DAC dongle thingie I can get that 1) makes IEMs not so sensitive to volume changes so I don't have to stay at fkn 4 volume and 2) gets rid of that hissing sound on laptop?

THANKS!!!!!

>>109905059

>>
>>109905042
The hiss comes from the sound card. Different IEMs have different sensitivity so you'll hear it with some IEMs and not the others. DACs with volume buttons are the best solution since they usually have good non-hissing hardware and you can reduce their volume to allow more precise adjustments in windows. Like black pearl from OP. Or you can get a low power DAC like apple dongle or >>109904522
Or you can get a medium power dongle like jm20 max and reduce the volume in equalizer apo, but if windows update breaks it you're gonna blast your ears.
>>
>>109905068
>Different IEMs have different sensitivity so you'll hear it with some IEMs and not the others
Brother they all have around the same sensitivity but only that IEM gets the hiss :(. My Tea Pro even has way less impedance than that IEM and it still doesn't hiss.

Can u pls just recommend a good portable cheap DAC I can use on my laptop? Maybeeee one that also reduces the volume sensitivity if possible?

Btw my phone sounds the best and has good volume sensitivity too. The IEMs really shine on my phone.
>>
>>109905087
Impedance and sensitivity are two different things.
>Can u pls just recommend a good portable cheap DAC I can use on my laptop? Maybeeee one that also reduces the volume sensitivity if possible?
I did.
>>

EQ'd my planars with EQ Guide straight to the JM-1 target with -1dB tilt and +6dB bass boost. All the planar techs are still there.
Did the same with cheap 1DD - no dice. It's still techless and detail-deprived.
Conclusion: techs are stored in the Driver Quality.
>>
>>109905100
If they're the same then either the numbers are bullshit(do you really trust chinks) or the other IEM has more treble so it's more audible.
>>
>>109905042
So guyz, that IEM that's hissing is shittier than the other ones right? They all have about the same sens, it's not more sensitive than the other ones. WHAT A PILE OF ASSSSSSSSSSS

Have u guys experienced this where some IEMs might hiss on a source while others won't?

Btw it's not a huge hiss but it's def there and it fucking pisses me off. I can't help but focus on it. There always has to be something fucking wrong ffs.
>>
>>109905125
Idk nigga. That IEM doesn't get quite as loud as the Tea Pro does for example. The Tea Pro seems more sensitivity with volume, but it still doesn't get that annoying slight hiss ;_;

>>
>>109905306
That of course was not my intention, but the outcome of driver limitations. They sound exactly the same in terms of tonality, though - but techs are techs. They're inherent to a driver.
>>
>>109905368
>same tonality but different techs
In-ear mics debunked this.
>>
Why do they make modern IEMs so retardedly sensitive anyway? You're never ever going to get anywhere near max volume unless you want to go deaf. On Windows like the other anon said I have to keep my IEMs at like 4-8 out of a 100. Shit is stupid.
>>
>>109905481
Back when portable sources had like 0.1V output voltage they switched to neodymium magnets to boost sensitivity, now we have 50 times more power but we're still stuck with those magnets.
>>
>>109905062

i think i've done it. my EDC Pro and my friend's Fugaku sound pretty much indistinguishable now, but without the attached amp and cable bloat. massive bass with incredible grip and slam. hardest hitting IEM i've ever heard, probably even more than fugaku. this shouldn't be possible. it's like maxing out strength and agility stats at the same time, with sublime dynamics. extreme separation. notes feel grand.

Final Audio E500 came in from Japan. For a $20 set, these are damn good.

The first thing that stood out was the comfort. This is by far the most comfortable iem or headphones that I own. After getting my skull dented by HD6XX and my canals stretched by my Novas, these disappear in my ear. Cables are microphonic, so I just wrap it over my ear like all my other IEMs. Comes with 5 pairs of Final Audio E tips, best tips for my money.

The sound signature out the box is exceedingly smooth and warm and expansive at medium volumes. Holy damn these sound soft and pillowy. Zero harshness, even on the busiest and sharpest tracks, but compromise is severe lack of detail, treble heads won't like it. The bass is not hard or thumping, rather a soft enveloping push, sub bass same story, no rumble, just enough to be there, but I'm not complaining since it complements the warm and relaxed signature.

These sound pretty bad with contemporary, edm, pop, it's just not enough detail or clarity to make them sound good. But paired with lo fi, old school hip hop, motown, jazz, blues, classical music, anything that isn't busy or energetic, is a perfect match holy shit. For these genres these $20 E500 beats my HD6XX without EQ. Also a lot of IEMs are horrible for listening to podcasts or on calls as they feel too shouty for me, while these are perfect. If only these had a mic it'd replace my apple earbuds permanently. 5/5 recommend.

what did the nips mean by this?
>>
>>109914964

Truthear Pure might be up your alley, reviewers say balanced tuning with relaxed treble. Truthear Hexa has less bass, might be a bit too recessed. Nightfall is somewhat balanced and is allegedly more comfy than the Pure or Hexa. If you never used IEMs before you might want to think about comfort and fit factor versus headphones, having something deeper in ear with over ear. The safe recommendation for headphones at that price is still HD6XX.

It should be obligatory to prefix pos impression with your hearing range. Deafzos are physiological unable to perceive techs and default their impressions to tonality alone.
It's a fucking irony that most people who are able to purachse best and most expensive gear can't utilize and fully appreciate it.
>>
>>109913184
Because good dd implementation sounds worse than good multi driver implementation. Simple as.
>>
>>109919507
>Deafzos are physiological unable to perceive.
When they can't notice the imaging differences between their gear, it's fun to watch them spiral into denialism. It's as if their experience or lack thereof is the only truth and applies to everybody else equally.
>>
>>109919507
>>109919590
Completely the other way around, it's the deafest people that care about the techs the most.
>>
>>109919655
The most deaf "need" EQ. It doesn't take any amount of deafness to appreciate techs.
>>
>>109919690
The most deaf are completely allergic to EQ because they think it destroys techs.
>>
>>109919690
Funny thing. I'm personally gear purist but after doing few small scale experiments with older people and then with EQ to match their hearing (12khz cutoff) I'm slowly warming up to the idea of equing when my hearing gets a hit. Muting that higher frequencies makes most of the stuff sound very similar (heading to lowest common denominator).
>>
>>109919696
>unironically admitting EQ is separate from techs.
what are you nerds even talking about?
>>
>>109919770
Some techs are, some techs aren't. There's a huge component of hallucination to audio which is how audio pebble companies survive. If you see something has changed then you will hear something has changed. That's why blind tests exist.
>>
>>109919782
An FR graph doesn't tell you anything about audio besides the amount of coloration influencing it.
>>
>>109919791
Objectively wrong. Your outer ear literally exists to modify the FR depending on the direction.

>>109919761

>>
>>109919797
You don't need your outer ear for IEMs
>>
>>109919812
IEMs need to reconstruct the effect of your outer ears to sound properly. And of the ear canal too, since sealing it doubles its fundamental resonance frequency.

Objectively wrong
>>
>>109919818
You're supposed to have an argument after that. Buy you know you don't have an argument.
>>
>>109919820
my argument is >>109919791
simple as. a controlled environment sine wave being measured in an IEM is not comparable to real audio being played.
>>
>>109919828
IEMs don't modify real audio beyond changing its spectrum and adding distortion(if you bought dogshit).
>>
>>109919828
nta but my 5 cents. Since I started doing sine sweeps wit pos in ear I can't take measurements seriously as a source of truth. Run sweep- there is some inbalance or lack of seal I didn't notice, rerun- dips and peaks and balance changes, chane tips- another change, push or pull pos 1mm: another change. But yeah, "averaged graph from god know what amount of sweeps, tops, inserion depths, unit variants is be all end all" lmao. You eiter personally like something or don't.
>>
>>109919848
>averaged graph
Nobody does that. FR at the eardrum is not the same thing as FR at the coupler but it's still FR and still can be EQd.
>>
>>109919833
>IEMs don't modify real audio beyond changing its spectrum.
you're agreeing with me >>109919791
FR is only showing a particular flavor influencing the audio.
can we stop talking in circles now that we agree
>>
>>109919857
Please teach me what and how to eq when the same pos with eiter different inserion depth (I'm talking just 1-2mm change, not changing tip size andgoing shallow deep) or eartip nozzle make me perceive top hats either natural or metallic, artificial and compressed. And how to adjust my expectations when purchasing new pos based on graphs. I'm asking seriously because I either lack of skillor it's impossible todo outide of big approximation of tonality alone.
>>
>>109919865
This is an IEM thread. With IEMs FR is all there's to audio. If you wanted to argue about things IEMs don't do you should have done that in /dmp/
>>
>>109919889
You learn how to get a consistent insertion depth and EQ based off that. For me the shallowest depth is the easiest to achieve, any shallower and it falls out. It's not like this matters only for EQ, non-EQd IEMs suffer from this too lol.
>purchasing new pos based on graphs

I've been listening to the miku dap for a couple of weeks now. I like it.

this is my first dedicated portable media player since the ipod touch. the miku is feature-rich with things I didn't know I wanted. the parametric EQ is god-tier all by itself. just tweaking sub-bass a bit unlocks detail and texture in ways that are new to me. breddy gud lads.

>>109923806
I don't have any IEMs right now, though I have had pretty good shures and etymotics iirc. I've been rotating through headphones. Mostly listening while at work so it has been mostly flipping between WH-1000XM3s and airpods max, with some home listening on wired cans.
>>
Does a DAC normalize audio volume?
As in, would any headphones be as loud as others through the same DAC?
>>
>>109924412
of course not, look at the sensitivity of your pos (or headpos) to determine how loud it'll be
>>
>>109924418
But a DAC does change the loudness of headphones, right?
I bought the apple dongle just to try something, and it makes my headphones quieter on phone
>>
>>109924434
The amp does.
>>
>>109924434
>But a DAC does change the loudness of headphones, right?
if it has its own physical volume control, then yes, of course. otherwise you'll have to rely on source volume control, which isn't ideal.
>>
>>109924462
if a DAC is 32-bit float and isn't hissy, it doesn't really matter
>>
>>109924481
we were covering the sensitivity/output side of things. 32-bit float just gives the digital processing chain a lot of headroom. it doesn't increase the DAC's analog output.
The real issue is whether the source/DAC has enough output for the headphone, and whether the volume control gives you a usable range. sensitive IEMs can be harder to finly adjust volume because small volume steps can be large changes in SPL
>>

>>
>>109924564

>>
I think I really want this. I wonder if it's a waste of money though. I've never heard an electrostatic. I'm dying of curiosity.
>>
>>109924434
Apple dongle and other dongles, despite commonly being called DACs, are actually DAC and amp combos. A pure DAC doesn't change headphone volume because it doesn't have headphone output. There are dongles with stronger amps that can drive headphones louder. Apple dongle also has a problem where it's quieter on phone than on PC because it starts not at full hardware volume and phones don't control hardware volume. Android 16 fixes this. Just get a different dongle. Apple dongle is mostly for IEMs.
>>
>>109924939
>Apple dongle is mostly for IEMs
I am planning to buy some, how is it different for IEMs?

Help me lads I have some noob questions and AI probably sucks for this or does it telling me the truth that it barely wont make any difference between this dongles? I just want a small dongle that is good and have volume controls and yeah better than my HyperX. I might upgrade my IEMs later but now now.
I decided to buy a better DAC for my PC. I use Moondrop Starfield IEMs with my HyperX dongle

Moondrop Starfield specs
Driver: CNT carbon nanotube diaphragm 10mm double-cavity dynamic driver

Cable: 24AWG Litz 4N OFC

Cable jack: 0.78 2pin

Sensitivity: 122dB/Vrms (@1kHz)

Impedance: 32Ω ± 15% (@1kHz)

Frequency response range: 10Hz-36kHz (free field 1/4 inch MIC, -3dB)

Effective frequency response: 20Hz-20kHz (IEC60318-4)
>>
>>109925254
well it is wrong about moondrop having a wheel but it's volume is 100 steps lol
it should be fine
other alternatives
>TRN Black Pearl
>BLON V1
>Fosi Audio DS2
>EYTSE HA03
all have the same dual CS43131 chip
>>
>>109925512
Yeah I got that, adjusting volume in 100 steps is much better especially for IEMs. My problem is AI keep saying that sound wise it wont matter much which i cant fucking believe, because my IEMs doesn't need much drive to work properly or IEMs in general besides planar and a few others.
I might still buy it and I will check your options as well, I just need a small DAC with volume buttons and yeah who knows I might buy other IEMs later but it still boggles my mind that it will sound basically same as with my old shitty HyperX, but I guess it all makes sense
>>
>>109925536
>My problem is AI keep saying that sound wise it wont matter much which i cant fucking believe
if hyperX amp is not transparent then it will matter
if it is it won't matter much indeed
>>
>>109925554
Dammit yeah its transparent unless you use shitty 7.1 function which I don't
Having better volume control and more futureproof DAC might be still worth it? I might get one more pair of IEMs in future anyway
After looking at DACs you recommended what would you say is better between Moondrop Dawn Pro 2 and TRN Black Pearl
Moondrop looks more premium on pictures at least

Here is AI recommended IEMs for DAC
7HZ Timeless
Kiwi Ears Aether
Letshuoer S12 Ultra

And the best recommendation according to my taste although I am also unsure about that Letshuoer S08
>>
>>109925691
>Having better volume control and more futureproof DAC might be still worth it?
I think like it won't matter much. Pick whatever has functions you want or looks you like.
HyperX might have worse noise floor with sensitive IEMs for example (tho I dunno)
>Here is AI recommended IEMs for DAC
Any IEM will be fine with these DACs.
What are your tastes?
Tho tastes is less of a problem than individual variation cause of anatomy...
>>
>>109925807

Okay one more thing I realized since I am new to this
I would basically need to buy 5 more IEMs to know what type I truly like
Planar that is Warm- Neutral, Warm V and Neutral Shaped
I already own one dynamic that is Moondrop Starfield (Warm-Neutral) so I only need Warm V and Neutral

There is also Electrostatic but that shit is rare and expensive, as I understand there is no IEMs that are fully EST either so its more an over-ear thing
>>
>>109925833
>I would basically need to buy 5 more IEMs to know what type I truly like
or you can use EQ
>>
>>109925859
So if use EQ with my Starfield I will know approximately what I like more?
Its like 25 euro cheaper for TRN Black Pearl and Moondrop is plastic i thought it was aluminium it looked like it on the picture, so I might order TRN Black Pearl.
>>
>>109925859
There is another thing I am sure it will sound different with Planar type of IEMs, so i will at least buy one more IEM that is Planar .
>>

I am back and thanks for all help in the end I bought FIIO Snowsky Melody Walnut. It was either FIIO or TRN Black Pearl. Reason i didnt buy Black Pearls is they changed some stuff without disclosing it, so it felt scummy and they are basically both pretty equal in terms of value.
>>
>>109926408
testing it out myself
>>
>>109926590
And you apparently heard no difference...Obviously you're deaf.
I have a better question- do you have at least 1 hybrid, 1 DD and 1 planar on hand right now?
>>
>>109926243
proof?
>>
>>109926622
hearing it myself because I own planars, hybrids and DDs and can discern their differences.
if you can't, that's a you problem
>>
>>109926614
How does Hybrid work? So Planar takes care of what it does best and Dynamic does same? Shouldnt this be the best? Maybe i should buy hybrid instead of trying pure Planar? Best would be having all three i guess, but i cant afford more now.
>>
>>109926636
what do you currently own? what is your "goal" in seeking a new IEM? what do you think you're missing from what you currently have that you may want "more" of?
>>
>>109926644
I own Moondrop Starfield. I would like to see if I can hear any difference with Planar and yeah maybe Hybrid with similar profile as my Starfields. Then i want to use EQ and all three and change profiles and see what I like best, does it make sense?
>>
>>109926614
i corrected their frequencies with autoeq and then the differences became so small i could not care less.
>>
>>109926660
that's your personal conclusion and I don't see a need to sway you in any other direction. what you can't do, is assume that your experience is literally everybody else's.
I am curious though, what are these sets you tested and how long did you have these sets in your possession?
>>
>>109926684
why would i anyone else's experience?
timeless, oxygen, oh10, and a few others
>>
>>109926691
consider*
>>
>>109926691
>timeless
mogged by current ultra cheap planars. specifically Artti T10 and KZ PRX
>oxygen
the way cheaper EA500LM trades blows with the oxygen
>oh10
mogged by CCA/KZ's best hybrid at half the price.

so what you're working with are outdated IEMs that can't really keep up with what's been released even in the past couple years. what you listed simply aren't sets that punch above their price in these times.
>>
>>109926712
nowhere did you mention anything about date
what makes these outdated anyways?
>>
>>109926648
>Moondrop Starfield
mogged by Simgot EA500LM by far.
You would hear a difference in current, decent planars as well as competent hybrids.
for value AND noticeable audible advantages look into Artti T10 for your planar, and for a hybrid.....what's your budget?
>>
>>109926726
>what makes these outdated anyways?
good question. when those sets were released, they were competitive, for that time period. then the market moved on as other sets outclassed what your sets aimed for/accomplished, and onwards the competition went as the years went by.
if they punched above their price back then, they certainly don't now because manufacturing processes/tuning capabilities/mass production get better by the year. QC is a different story though lol
>>
>>109926633
>has IEMs with different tunings
>hears the difference
no shit sherlock
>>
>>109926750
what does this have anything to do with driver types
if anything, these were all respectable competitive sets for their eras
>>
>>109926770
>for their eras
and I'm talking about today, where nobody is praising Obsidian, nobody is buying Oxygen, and literally nobody is buying Timeless anymore.
>>
>>109926770
there are $24 KZ planars that compete with couple hundred dollar hybrids. easily
>>
>>109926760
you do realize this kind of logic defeats the "planar timbre avoid, BA pos avoid, blah blah" grift, right?
>>
>>109926803
obviously "BA timbre" etc is not real... because why the fuck would it be
BAs have different downsides but in most cases they also do not matter
>>
>>109926777
again, what does this have anything to do with drivers?
>>
you need to be legit retarded to believe that driver types matter
also claiming that you hear the difference between drivers when you are literally comparing 2 different IEMs with different tuning and shells is like next level retardation
>>
>>109926820
>why the fuck would it be
because how it produces sound is an entirely different mechanism than a DD or planar.
it's why IEMs that consist of only 1BA being used as the full-range speaker aren't taken seriously, even with the crutch of a helmholtz resonator, they aren't well regarded as comparable to a decent BA.
if 1BA could hold their own, you'd see them everywhere.
>>
>>109926824
>>109926842
you're the one that said driver types don't matter. I'm telling you they do.
you not being able to tell the difference doesn't mean nobody else can. your confirmation bias is coming off as cope because you're denying a reality that you're simply not experiencing yourself.
it's not complicated
>>
>>109926845
>they aren't well regarded as comparable to a decent DD.
fixed
>>
>>109926845
>because how it produces sound is an entirely different mechanism than a DD or planar.
it moves air
You do understand that it does not actually explain anything?
>it's why IEMs that consist of only 1BA being used as the full-range speaker aren't taken seriously
the only problem with 1BA is bass simply because BA is very small and has problems with moving enough air for low end to be loud enough
actually
>aren't taken seriously
what the fuck does this suppose to mean?
etymotics exists you know
>if 1BA could hold their own, you'd see them everywhere
I don't think you quite comprehend the argument
>>
>>109926857
>you're the one that said driver types don't matter.
they don't
> I'm telling you they do
not really
you said it yourself there aren't many 1BA IEMs around so... why the fuck would they matter? Why BA is your only argument? What about the rest of them?
>you not being able to tell the difference doesn't mean nobody else can
How do you know you are hearing the difference between driver types and not tuning? That's the argument by the way.
>your confirmation bias is coming off as cope because you're denying a reality that you're simply not experiencing yourself.
it's not complicated
now YOU are coping. What do you even know about "reality"?
>>
>>109926883
>it moves air
if it were that simple, people wouldn't buy IEMs with 1. more than one driver and 2. more than one type of driver, let alone 3 types of drivers. you know what I'm talking about.
>BA is very small and has problems with moving enough air for low end to be loud enough actually.
Oh look you just conceded by admitting a driver limitation. what happened to, "it moves air, bro"?? now it's "it doesn't move air good enough"? lol you lack consistency in your own arguments.
>etymotics exists you know
nice. 1 brand. now name another brand that competes on having 1BA IEMs. you can't.
>>109926900
>Why BA is your only argument?
it's an example. that you actually conceded on. don't go back on your words when you literally just established driver type limitations.
either driver types matter or they don't. make up your mind.
>How do you know you are hearing the difference between driver types and not tuning? That's the argument by the way.
>"i corrected their frequencies with autoeq and then the differences became so small i could not care less."
I did the same, yet heard differences. You are fantasizing a world where only your experience is the one truth. you've missed the mark hard on that one.
>What do you even know about "reality"?
what do you know about emotional stability? oh....
>>
>>109926932
>if it were that simple, people wouldn't buy IEMs with 1. more than one driver and 2. more than one type of driver, let alone 3 types of drivers. you know what I'm talking about.
so now driver types argument magically turned into hybrids argument? what are you even arguing about?
Guess what. Driver types do not matter tuning does.
And tuning is why people "buy IEMs with 1. more than one driver and 2. more than one type of driver"
>nice. 1 brand. now name another brand that competes on having 1BA IEMs. you can't.
aful
>it's an example. that you actually conceded on. don't go back on your words when you literally just established driver type limitations.
So driver types only matter if it's BA driver and doesn't matter for the rest of them?? Your "example" is irrelevant to the conversation
>either driver types matter or they don't. make up your mind.
They do not matter.
>I did the same, yet heard differences.
Again how do you know it was enough and it's still not tuning?
>You are fantasizing a world where only your experience is the one truth. you've missed the mark hard on that one.
I'm not even talking about experiences I'm asking about your methodology which is flawed. You simply have no way of knowing.
>what do you know about emotional stability? oh....
how is this relevant lmao? are you feeling it? you losing the argument again?
>>
>>109927006
>And tuning is why people "buy IEMs with 1. more than one driver and 2. more than one type of driver"
I accept your concession.
>aful
I accept your concession.
>Your "example" is irrelevant to the conversation.
I accept your concession.
>They do not matter.
you just admitted they do. I accept your concession.
>Again how do you know it was enough and it's still not tuning?
I own a bunch of DDs and EQing them all to the same neutral target reveals their limitations. cheaper DDs fail. the better, more expensive and better implemented DDs, win.
>I'm not even talking about experiences I'm asking about your methodology which is flawed. You simply have no way of knowing.
you're deaf and I accept your concession.
>how is this relevant lmao? are you feeling it? you losing the argument again?
I accept your concession.

you don't have an argument and you proved it line by line.
>>
>"driver types don't matter!"
>"BAs can't move air good enough"
this is called a contradiction. time for a new thread so we can bury this embarrassment.
>>
>>109927040
>I own a bunch of DDs and EQing them all to the same neutral target reveals their limitations
but how do you know that?
>you don't have an argument and you proved it line by line.
"I accept your concession" is not a real rebuttal. Maybe try to be serious for once
>>
>>109927057
sigh
explain how does it matter for an actual product you buy with your money?
>>
>>109927059
>but how do you know that?
because I know what I am hearing.
>try to be serious for once
take your own advice. I've said more than I should have already and you're only worry is to move on from arguing and make an attempt to have a discussion. you have no other option.
>>
>>109927066
>because I know what I am hearing.
what are you talking about
how do you know your EQ manipulations were enough???
do you know why you can't answer that normally? because the obvious answer is - you have no idea
>I've said more than I should have already
you said nothing
your whole argument is "BUT I HEAR" when we aren't even at the hearing part yet. literally nobody asked
>>
>>109927088
you seem to be the only person in the hobby who can't hear differences in techs.
like imaging, staging, depth, separation, etc.

nobody else has this problem of yours. you're alone in this.

you're also a certified maniac for ignoring the reality that other people know what they are hearing. this is a you problem. only you.

cope harder or get with the program
>>
>>109927097
>you seem to be the only person in the hobby who can't hear differences in techs.
techs? we are talking about driver TYPES. now it's suddenly techs?
are you lost?
>>
>>109927101
>>109926883
>BA is very small and has problems with moving enough air
it ties in to the same topic because beyond tonality, there's a reason different driver types exist. it's not just tonality alone, and you seem to have a serious problem conflating multiple things into one- FR.
if only FR mattered, different driver types wouldn't be used in the first place.

you really are narrow-minded. maybe it's the emotional problems that cloud your judgement.
>>
he lost so hard he forgot what he was arguing about lmao
>>
>"driver types don't matter. I mean they do, but then again they don't....but they do"
lol
>>
>>109927115
>it ties in to the same topic because beyond tonality
how do you know you went beyond tonality?
>there's a reason different driver types exist.
things like "techs" is not the reason different driver types exist
>it's not just tonality alone, and you seem to have a serious problem conflating multiple things into one- FR.
okay show me measurements of these multiple things that are not FR then
and explain what they are, what the difference is and how it was measured
>if only FR mattered, different driver types wouldn't be used in the first place.
false
they are used because only FR matters
>you really are narrow-minded. maybe it's the emotional problems that cloud your judgement.
magical thinking is what actually narrow-minded. are you tired of deflecting to nonsense such as emotion when you are the only emotional one here?
>>
>>109927132
>how do you know you went beyond tonality?
by noticing driver limitations and strengths compared to each other.
>things like "techs" is not the reason different driver types exist.
says a multiple-hybrid owner. not hearing their advantages is a skill issue. sorry.
>psychoacoustics and well-mixed audio don't land on FR charts you dolt.

false.
I accept your concession.

sigh again
how do you know you have an ability to notice driver limitations and strengths compared to each other?
You have no ability to compare drivers by ear. Why do you think you do actually?
>says a multiple-hybrid owner. not hearing their advantages is a skill issue. sorry.
nonsensical statement. Wait... do you actually think hybrids exist because of techs? lmao no really?
>false.
bro saying word "psychoacoustics" again and again is not an argument. You don't even know what psychoacoustics are...
Please do try to come up with a real argument

you can't even explain why they matter beyond muh BA when etymotics have great 1 BA pos and you literally have no argument against that other than "NAME ANOTHER BRAND" as if it matters which I did by the way
so in the end you have no argument at all

define psychoacoustics
explain why driver types matter
you simply can't
