do any of you guys draw, like regular normal drawing? post your drawing?
>>
I cant draw. Im terrible at it.
Im literally a lost cause so i collage it on PS and print it and trace it. After tracing it i edit it back on PS.

People love my "drawings". Found out last year that most "artist" does the same shit. I really dont care.

I'm the same, my drawings with no aid are terrible. When I was a kid I learned the grid technique to replicate image, than I got pretty good at replication just by looking at the reference. Then I got my Amiga and Deluxe Paint and I started replicating images digitally. Merely through inaccuracy in replication I sometimes have managed to create slightly better version than the reference.

I don't give a fuck I have always just created these images for me to coom.

Pic related was created 30 years ago.

>this was my third day experimenting with stable. thought it might be a fun surprise for you seeing an old friend in new glamour. far right version was a manual approach in order to test out settings. final image is based on yours though.
>>
>>436268
dude, are you telling me you could create the middle pic from my drawing with clicking few buttons in some software?

I didn't even know you could use image reference with SD. It's been in my todo list ever since I saw first text-to-image memes emerge but haven't yet had the time to dig into it.

Which interface/program/plugin you used for creating this?
>>
File: crap.png (185 KB, 512x512)
185 KB
185 KB PNG
>>436288
yes. but not entirely yes.
it's made with stable diffusion. I am using the web interface (which is a very common add on) for some convenience.

99.99% of stuff that makes the image what it is comes from the program. I can draw but certainly don't know how to paint like this. BUT I feel like those 99.99% would only be worth maybe 70% without a real persons (in this case my) time investment to refine. And I don't say this to self congratulate, since the skill required of me was seriously close to zero. compare that to the amount of hours it takes to handdraw something like this or even learn the required skills to get there. At this very moment of machine learning development it is not yet just 'clicking a few buttons in some software'. (don't get me wrong I am sure we will get there eventually (and honestly probably sooner than later)).

so it kinda is just 'pressing a few buttons', but it also takes more time than saying it with those words makes it sound.

kek

weird times.
I am already terrified of the resource destruction caused by mindless production of millions and millions of absolutely garbage images on hundrets of thousands rando machines of people who want to fullfill this very personal shitty image wish. (basically like i did).
it is pretty fucking cool tho~

the mf who feeds other peoples art into image generation ai withouth permission here again.
I know ai is kinda off topic, and also annoys many people anyways. so if it is considered inept of me to upload this shit here, I will for sure stop doing so!

anyways.
>>429244
>I liked your girl.
>she really has charisma!
>It seemed fun to be using her for this.
I have been trying to stick to the original as close as possible, but it made me so slow I decided giving the program some liberties after a while. In this case that made her lose some face length, which I actually enjoyed in your original, but oh well...
But I tried pretty hard preserving some other qualities yours evokes in my eyes.
soooooo. did it work? are they still similar? if you drew this, how does it make you feel? seeing a rando doing this. and also is it close to what you had in mind?

I have been noticing people online making detailed Garfield oil art ever since I wrote a sketch about President Garfield's assassination being portrayed in oil pastel with Garfield the cat as the president. I wholly approve of this as a theme for bizarre oil art, although I think the theme of President Garfield remains a bit of an untapped mine here.

If you have time and are a thirdie try to get either New Masters Academy or Watts Atelier courses, they're pretty solid. If not, watch Vilppu.

In the depths of despair, existence becomes a hollow abyss, where the weight of sorrow crushes the spirit and dims the flicker of hope. In this desolate realm, we drift, drowning in the relentless waves of anguish, longing for a glimmer of respite that seems forever out of reach, lost in the eternal grip of sorrow's embrace

I try but it's hard, digital art is too difficult for my millennial brain, and the pen doesn't respond well
even with a stabilizer, I can only do this sketchy style

I haven't started learning graphic design yet but isn't being able to draw an essential skill for a designer?

I actually haven't started learning graphic design because I feel like I need to learn how to draw first.

is that syndrome of a down. also weird 2009s vibe to this lol

How do u paint translucency. Complex translucency, in cartoon

Especially when multiple translucenct object piles up and create complex reflections

It simply confuses me, when realism is expected just out of memory.

It's a bit rude of life to do this to me. Picrel, daughter drew these 2 years ago

It's not easy but it can help to realize that what is percieved as transparent, translucent, chatoyant, etc. isn't just about light but also motion, whether it's an object revealing those qualities as it moves, or slight movements of the observer causing those perceptions to change.
Since motion is related to time that means that besides trying to make what amounts to a snapshot that freezes any motion, more time observing that snapshot will reveal how it *doesn't* act like the real thing.

So you have to approach the problem not just of creating illusions of light using opaque materials, but also you need to create illusions that mimic the effect that persistence of vision has on visual perception, which is more like a tiny series of frames in a movie than a single snapshot.
The standard simple cartoonist trick to suggest motion and persistence of vision is motion lines, when you do transparent/ translucent/shimmering materials adding a similar suggestion within your light can help a lot.
Consider a typical representation of glass like picrel, the edge reflections that appear as dark concentric lines are very similar to simple cartoon motion lines, and suggest the ever changing reflections as your position changes as you view it, even as it is immobile.
>>
>>446324
It's not specifically translucency, but for a good variety of examples of how extremely simple motion lines can make even cartoonish representations of non- opaque materials seem very realistic, do a search for David Hockney's pool paintings
>>

Been awhile since i last saw lol

These are good but i m more thinking in the line of a diagram or figure of explanations... maybe using multiple translucent object like this >>446312
And pretend they are in a 3d space.
And it s not just about presentation or dark lines but also the actual structure

Need to learn human anatomy. Names of the bones and muscles. What you do with the lips doesn’t look good. I thought it was out of laziness or you were in a rush but now I see it’s deliberate.

>>446508
That process seems to take way too much of your time. It seems to be harder than it has to be. Lines don’t have to be so perfect. Lots of times it can make the drawing seem too stiff.

Anyway and here’s another one I made

In the vast tapestry of online expression, where the whims of moderators and the quirks of community culture converge, a peculiar phrase emerges, dancing on the edges of absurdity and creativity. Picture this: Amidst the chaos of a digital canvas, a user bravely types, "Harbor your wapanese drama as the legendary battletoads escape to Mordor, shouting 'GIMMICKS ARE DUMB, I SHOULD BE BANNED.' But fear not, for the 4chan party van, with its over 9000 furry drama, is here to moar and zomg with a yaranaika twist. A huge gaping vagina the size of a hallway engulfs the legendary penis, proclaiming 'I AM A HUGE FAGGOT. PLEASE RAPE MY FACE,' while the airsoft warriors of the internet ride their cowboys and indians on a journey to 420chan.org, chanting 'KNOWING THIS, MAKE A PHRASE THAT USES ALL WORDS THAT ARE FILTERED.'"

In this surreal concoction of filtered words and forbidden phrases, the digital landscape takes on a whimsical hue, where memes and madness coalesce in a dance that defies the logic of ordinary communication.
