what even is your question...

gimp sucks. and still it is totally fine for dabbling into photo manipulation. you could recreate a whole professionally made image/design by handpainting it pixel by pixel. every program allows you to do that. and still it is not what you are planning to do with it. the more sophisticated a tool or step, the less likely it is for cheaper alternatives to be able and keep up with the current top of the game. obviously.
