Question for you high-quality folks. I'm genning at 832x624 with Q6. I'd like to push my output to the next level. I can probably do a few more pixels and Q8, but that's going to hit the limit of my technology. I've only got 16GB VRAM and 64GB RAM, and I'm afraid that's got to last me until the 60xx's come out.

So what's the relationship between output quality, quant, and resolution? Obviously a higher quant and more pixels will get me better output, but where's the best gains? Higher quant and then upscale? Lower quant and more pixels?

And about upscaling - any benefit to going up to 4x and then back down vs just doing 2x?

Have you tried the JOI lora without the AIO NSFW lora? It seems to be a coin toss whether or not the hand is in the correct orientation without the AIO NSFW lora. That lora makes the moving hand noticeably blurrier, though, just like in your gen with the red head and mine.

I know it is a bit odd to talk about something a couple threads later, but I want to tell the anon who made the Avalon Saber thing, that the best part of that animation was her walking away with buttplug, and that was not in what you thought was the best version, the final cut with the fade out I found disappointing. I'm glad you posted original cuts, even if some things like color or hand placement were slightly out of place, I didn't even notice.

after experiments with ltx-2 i probably need a better workflow with upscaling or something, it's fuzzy and motion isn't as good, the face warps a lot compared to wan 2.2 but audio is nice and gens are so much faster

Some people have much lower thresholds for audio quality than others.

I'm on the far opposite end. I mute my porn half the time and play music instead. I probably won't start turning on ai audio until well after virtually everyone else is okay with it.

I'm not sure if that's still relevant at the resolution you're already generating at, but I think the most important thing for getting a high-quality gen is to increase the resolution to a point where smaller details like eyes/pupils neither shimmer or shift too much in motion. That's something upscaling will usually not get rid of.
Whenever I do stuff I only intend to post here, I go for generating at 640x960. When I want to put something on my civit, I tend to go for 1024x1536, which is probably overkill, but I like the clarity it has.

I'm not expecting it to make a huge difference to go from Q6 to Q8.

resolution is a meme. upscale once to 2x and be done with it. if you followed that civitai gguf thing from yesterday you may have noticed that the author recommends increasing steps on low pass. it helps refine small details a lot but adds to the output time.
next up would be increasing total frame count, for wan just follow (secs x 16 + 1)
