For training artist styles, what's your guys go-to step/image count? Looking at training some new styles and I've got around 75 images for one artist, which is a little on the low side but I was wondering if it'd still work.And to offset the lower size, should I lower the total step count to not overbias it? I usually do around 5k steps, but I think some of my style LORAs leave a little to be desired. Any advice would be appreciated.

I tried running v-pony anon's config overnight on 4090 for 15 epochs of kuroinu/hikage eiji vn art because that's all i had (2k images). It certainly re-adds the dynamic range but it shits itself for more than 1girl standing. Frequent frying of hands as well. I think the technique could work at a large scale, maybe 5-10 epochs on half a booru dataset. I didn't really do dataset cleaning either, so transparent backgrounds and stuff were still in.Really this begs the question of why not a single baker bothered using vpred technique. Every single one, from animagine to kohaku, has the same dynamic range issues. It's an issue with base xl which is why cos xl exists. I just seems to be silently accepted on a wide scale except for this specific thread, it's like they don't even notice how limited the colors are. After doing this I have no idea how cascade looks so completely fried. I was kind of shocked at how decent the results were and expected it to produce nothing but featureless blobs. Cascade's efforts would've unironically been better spent doing a pony finetune. I'm convinced this copium solution is really the most realistic option in the short-term. I would do bigger experiments but sd-scripts/finetuning is a pain in the ass, it frequently crashes my PC compared to loras with ai-toolkit and easy_scripts, and I like being able to actually use my machine when training.

Is it still possible to create Loras? I tried all my prior settings and Kohya keeps giving me Out of Memory errors no matter what I do, despite using settings that previously worked. I tried the "Easy Lora Scripts" from github but it gives me out of memory errors as well even when using the Low Vram settings. I tried installing SD-Scripts but during installation it cannot install Torch. Has lora creation been entirely broken?

Since NAI has an inpainting model it can safely go to 1.0 denoise, on local that's only achievable with Animagine's inpainting model, or foocus inpaint...which also happens to only work on Animagine from what I've tried. At 1.0 denoise you just prompt what you want to have in the masked area, and maybe neg what was already there.Without those you have to stay at lower denoise, generally below 0.65. The model was not trained to inpaint so it just gives you a new image in the masked area without considering what's around it, if the denoise level allows it to make large changes. This means only small things can be changed, which fit into 0.6 or so denoise. Things that are either very small or have similar colors to the surroundings. Like removing an extra navel, or rerolling fingers on a clenched fist. For anything more complex you should roughly redraw it manually first, then inpaint that. Large patches of color matter much more than outlines or the exact shape.

auraflow has similar issues to cascade. its being baked by one guy with little to no oversight so massive issues slip in like the ideaogram cat synthslop dataset. it will take so long to become competent because it's just him messing around with architecture and parameters without anyone there to tell him "maybe that idea is shit". the auraflow team themselves admitted that flux absolutely mogged them and that they don't know how they'll "fit in". auraflow still looks like complete shit and the only reason it's being chosen is become astralite wants to sell discord subscriptions and the flux-dev license doesn't let him
