while I would like to see a sister in a habit and nun it wouldn't really make sense for one to be a mother of someone unless they're adopted or a bastard, the former is lame and the latter could be insteresting I suppose, but maybe it should just be a regular mother wearing a bit more modest clothing and a crucifix pendant

I'd say yes because while a tomboyish mother and motoyan could appear the same, the tomboyish mother could just simply be someone that's dresses more casually (shirt and pants, no dresses to speak of or very rarely) and generally is an active character (active meaning she does home work related to fixing stuff and other things). Meanwhile the Motoyan character has sort of a "persona" to her, they aren't necessarily active. Both have a straightforward attitude but for different reasons, one could be because of the gang she was with and the other because she was playing a lot with boys or is in general more into manly sports.
