I've never had issues as long as it's not more pixels than 1024x1024. Then upscale to your 2K or whatever.You can gen at higher res with smea_dyn sampler and/or RAUnet, but it does affect the gens. It can no longer hallucinate broken anatomy because you gave it a pretty good idea of where everything's supposed to go.
