After asking about if they were open to commissions, I just outlined what I wanted the theme to be. For the rawsource one, it was slowburn, going from softcore to hardcore stuff as the music amped up. Funny you should mention Tracer too because I specifically asked for a focus on her!
I didn't specify any kinks, really, aside from what I mentioned about the soft to hard. The song choice wasn't super important to me, so with rawsource, he just asked if it was fine if he used a song that some other guy wanted to see in an HMV. But for other editors, I think they'd prefer if you supply a song, or at least a few for them to pick between.
I wanted to commission jjulez once because he's my favorite, but on top of needing to be a patron to do that, he was very slow to respond to DMs and never really got back to me about songs. So I think most would prefer if you just drop a "here's the theme, kinks, characters and song I want."

CRF 18 shouldn't really be a problem, unless you use a relatively fast speed preset. You shouldn't use anything else than "veryslow" really.
CRF basically goes up by 1 each preset you increase, so using 18 at "medium" would be like using 21 at "veryslow".
The 3D one is filled with blocky artifacts.

Please don't use such sources in a 1080p video.
Stick with actual 1080p sources or above, 720p if you really must use a source. But if most sources are 720p, export at 720p instead of course.

The other sources are 1080 but they're from muchoshit because there's literally only other one person doing upscales anymore so I just didn't have those ones in particular. Let me give you some advice from more than a decade of watching this thread chew people up and spit them out. Make the shit you wanna make woth the effects you want. Some anons will call you dogshit for using certain animations or because you picked a song with vocals they hate or instrumentals. Some will complain purely because you didn't consult them and give them a mega wrapped in a bow. Most people goving you criticism don't do anything other than download.

Stop worrying so much about filesizes, quality is more important.
Storage is cheap and 300MB for a 5 min HMV and 600 for a 9 min HMV is fuck all, even if the filesize was tripled it's not all that much.
On the same speed preset, lowering CRF by 3 (crf 15) should roughly double the filesize, and at those sizes, that's not anything worrysome.
It's not like you're exporting at 120mbps then sharing that, it would only be a mere 20mbps or so.
Either way, make sure you use the veryslow preset, assuming you have a half decent CPU, it doesn't take an eternity, just be patient.
And of course make sure you export at ridiculous bitrates from your editor, or prores if you can.
Compressing a cleaner source is more efficient, so you don't want your editor to spit out something highly compressed.
Ffmpeg is also piss easy to learn, so I would suggest you use that to compress rather than shitbrake. Much easier to automate too.

Also increase the bitrate, by a LOT. 250MB is just not enough for a 5 minute long video, even if you're using HEVC.
Make it at least 1GB or compress properly. Your video editor is not in any way a good compression tool.
Ideally render out at prores or as high bitrate as you can then use ffmpeg with software encode (not gpu) at crf 15 for H264 or 18 for HEVC.
Turn off the original audio from the file too, it sounds shit when you can't deliver it right, which most people can't.
Try to also sync the fucking to the beat aswell. And use some other song rather than overused garbage.
