Question for the thread:

Been thinking/drafting a story about world where the chastity and moral values of men and women are reversed, with male population being around 1:5 to 1:7 of the female population.

For such scenario, with men being scarce, how far would women go in order to secure a man and not rely on artificially insemination for reproduction? Because I was thinking of making them a bit unhinged and cutthroat in securing a man, since having a boyfriend and/or a husband would be a massive status boost to them and their families.

I was toying with the idea of violence, but I'm currently against the idea due to me still not sure how dark or serious I'm going to make it. Has anyone here played Nebel Geisterjäger? I'm not sure I understand the main system. So in order for Kana to progress through the maps you walk up to one of the stationary blue/black ghosts, wack it again and again and again (10~ or so times per room?), each time instakilling it with the attack that consumes all your MP followed by an attack that consumes all your TP, until the number in the upper left corner gets close to 100%? Since game time doesn't progress during battles and there's no risk of taking damage when you can use the mp burst every time, the only resource you're evaluating whether you want to spend is your own wasted player time. Am I missing something? How can anyone possibly think this makes serviceable gameplay?
It'd be super easy to fix too. Have MP recover over time instead of refilling every battle, so repeated battles will wear you down and bite into your HP, then have you gain 25 to 75 room safety per fight instead of 0 to 10, and have room safety slowly decline over time. That's really all it would take. Then the player would have to evaluate whether he wants to risk leaving a room at slightly less than 100 safety, his evaluation would depend on how confidently he thinks he can estimate Kana's location, he might actually need to rest, and things can actually go wrong.
If you want to go the extra mile you could hide a few special ghosts, whose presence lowers mapwide room safety gain efficiency, so the player would have a little insentive to clear the map nonsequentially, but it isn't necessary.
It's a real shame something so central is so poorly designed when the game otherwise looks very neat.
