So /hdg/, I've been trying to bake a lora (low experience with this, first lora for sdxl i baked).The lora is based on synthetic slop from noobai leaked checkpoint, on top of illus. I'm distilling some oc donutsteal character from noobai latent space.I remove the character's generating tags and replace it with her name with a script, the dataset is ~40 pictures.lr is like 5e-5 for text, twice for unet.When training just on this data, it mostly works, prompt the chara and she appears, it's pretty fun, but as with any lora it gives sd brain damage and it's less sensitive to some prompts (it's overfit), the character reproduces, but it also gets bad traits like too thick lines and western/e621 tendencies from noob.So i figured I'd try regularization, i didn't know how to set it up/was lazy to read kohya source, so I wrote a scraper for gelbooru, grabbed 100 random pics, removed 10% of them manually, genned captions from the metadata (own script).Then i set like 3_SlopChara 1_BooruReg for repeats, did some handful of epochs, at half the lr i mentioned and it learned jack shit, tried jacking it up to twice and it learned more, but not enough, maybe at 6 epochs it sometimes seems to reproduce the character poorly, but only if i prompt some of her traits (that weren't in the "distilled" prompt).I tried upping to 6 repeats and 6 epochs, this is maybe 1200 steps overall? batch size 2 (16gb gpu, do I increase it?). Mostly it learns far worse than when I overfit on her chara without regularization (I consider this as a continued pretrain effort). I'm using rank 128 for now for the LoRA. Any suggestions, up learning rate? remove regularization image? move to reg directory instead of this manual setup? Hopefully don't tell me to bake for 6 hours? How do I get it to learn her character as well as the first time but without harming the overall illus capability. When I trie the first (overfit) LoRA on illus it worked worse than illus, but still worked.

Let's figure out slop together:So anons, I've generated a bunch of pics (about 300, I've included about 100 in an archive), but I'd like the "source" to these pics.There's no artist mix to them, it's just a LoRA I trained... The LoRA itself does not truly use much real data (aside from about 90 completely random, but reasonable booru pictures for regularization), the source of the character is all slop, that is, synthetic data.I just opened up that recent noob vpred leak, and tried to find an interesting character in its latent space, no real artist tags, but trying to find something that would generate consistently, some maybe 7-8 tags were used, and the dataset of 40 something pictures was curated after to retain some partial consistency.However, noob has its furry biases and other western biases and some of the tags may be cringe enough (rainbow thighhighs?) in an attempt to pick a slightly original character, however noob ended up giving it a lot more specific traits that weren't prompted and stayed consistent, this is perhaps normal with both SD and even with LLMs that you end up targetting some narrow part of their latent space like that.A lora was first trained by overfitting on just that data (on top of Illus), this led to Illus mimicking flat backgrounds of vpred noob like gray backgrounds. I've noticed that the western biases that led to slightly thicker lines were accentuated, in fact it went thicker and thicker.Now the character itself had some western tendencies, but I wouldn't call it /aco/, it's still quite anime (and loli).

Now, what are the actual closest latents to this character I wonder, who is she closest in Illus' (and Noob's) latent space. Maybe this question could be answered with some interpretability techniques, but if not, I'd like anon's opinions on the Origin Of Slop. Where did it come from, where do the thick lines and those eyelashes various other biases come from?

It largely failed to preserve the thighhighs in the finetune, but the character is recalled easily otherwise in latter versions of the LoRA (dim=128). I might as well say this while we have the tech discussion going on to get us back on track. There is a video diffusion caching technique that got ported over to SDXL, First Block Cache, wih this custom node. I tested and this extends to Noob/Illustrious.https://github.com/chengzeyi/Comfy-WaveSpeedThey suggest a value for the residual_diff_threshold field to 0.2 for SDXL and it seems to work better than ToMe (Token Merging) for accelerating gens and still keep everything fairly similar. I do quite a bit of shit so despite my shitty gen here for comparison, it takes usually 53-55 seconds to generate an image with noobAICyberfix_vpred10PerpCyberfix with my shitty GPU. With this technique, I managed to shave off around 14-15 seconds generating. I bet it would go faster if only I could use torch.compile.
