I still have no idea what it is. What exactly do philosophers do aside from thinking? How do philosophers develop their mindsets? Why even do philosophers think? What are they trying to achieve? How does philosophy impact society, religion, science, politics, etc? Are there any new philosophical mindsets being created rn, or have we already come up with all the answers and have we become truly enlightened?

There’s no widely accepted definition of philosophy, so the best way to explain what philosophy is, is to just give examples of philosophical questions. So, philosophy answers questions like: how do we know things, what’s the fundamental nature of reality, do we have free will, is there a god, what does it mean to live a good life, what kind of society is best, etc. Philosophers think about these things because they’re just inherently interesting and important.
If you want to see how philosophers think, there’s really no other way to do that except to just read some philosophy. But to put it simply, philosophers just think much more clearly and rigorously than other people.
We definitely have not come up with the answers to the big questions. New work in philosophy is always being done.

A waste of time.

Typically only humans who engage in homosexual sex acts also engage in philosophy. Both produce nothing of value for society.

It's what you do when you desperately want to be seen as "smart" by other people but you're too bad at math to study a real science.

Phileo-sophistry.
Basically, a bunch of people using semantics, and simple logic, in order to try and persuade others to like the things that they like, and talk the way that they talk.

It's love of wisdom (philo-sophia). Basically philosophers hate not knowing shit, which is an eternal problem since there is probably no such thing as ultimate wisdom (although some branches of Buddhism claim enlightenment=omniscience and other philosophies claim unity with Source=omniscience).

I think the best philosophy is Buddhism personally (especially Pure Land Buddhism and Dzogchen) because correct meditation leads to states of divine bliss. Shamanism and psychedelics are hugely interesting, too. Altered state of consciousness-chasers are the real metaphysicians of today.

Literally every field of study is philosophy. When you get a PhD in mathematics, because mathematics is so superior to philosophy, what does PhD stand for? Doctor of Philosophy. Science is a branch of philosophy that used to be called natural philosophy. It's still philosophy even though it was renamed. You can't beat philosophy. You can only be too stupid to practice it.

See what I mean about semantics.
