*ahem*The crusades were justified. That is all.
Without the plug of islam stopping christianity from spreading unimpeded, the sassanid empire would inevitably convert too and there would be a single civilizational continuum stretching from japan to Portugal practicing different varieties of "christianity", but this christianity, without any military or theological threat would be obsenely heterodox and full of schisms. There wouldn't even be a single, coherent gospel and judaism would spread side by side with it as well as manicheanism and gnosticism taking root everywhere and the bishop of say, kyoto, would give 0 fucks about the bishop of Jerusalem and both would only communicate through insults with the bishop of Kerala. In essence christianity would become a sort of "silk road" religion much like buddhism and much more in the back of the mind of rulers than in our timeline
>>16533222>be crusader>pillage and raze Christian province >return home
>>16533423What province are you talking about, specifically?
>>16533417SuuureFace it islam doesn't hold back other religions, is just a blatant example of how a religious person should act
>>16533222Yes it was.>>16533417There would just be another schism. Islam mostly is just an extreme schism of Eastern Roman Empire Christianity with ad hoc theology added on later.
>>16533417If it hadn't been Mohammedanism, it would have been Manichaeism, or Nestorianism that would have opposed Christianity in the East. Mohammedanism just so happened to absorb, assimilate or destroy many heriesies that were already floating around in the East.

>>16534815How can there be war crimes when no legal body pertaining to war existed at the time?

>>16535028>God doesn't exist. Then you have no grounds to dictate the moral veracity of anything. This conversation should be meaningless to you since to be "justified", one must have a moral system to test this claim (and you have nothing which evidence may show).
>>16535052I made an objection to the description of the Crusader's actions as being 'war crimes' because there was no super-legal body to make such determinations. I made no statements about morality. Stupid fucking christcuck.
