I just looked at my 23andMe tests, and it shows under French & German ancestry the following:

>Genetic group: Aquitaine and Garonne river basin
I am Austrian, so Bavaria makes sense. But Aquitaine? How did that come about? It's not exactly close to Bavaria either.

You have a bit of southern European blood by virtue of being Austrian. It’s a weird mix that dna tests can’t parse into proper categories so it just said Aquitaine and called it a day.
