You can suffer all your life and stop believing at the end because you received no help and go to hell while someone who experienced all worldly pleasures and lived in bliss can repent and go to hell. How is that not pure insanity?
>>16804851It is insanity. Consider it more like the great secret of Christianity, it’s collusion by the many against the judgements of heaven. Good deeds aren’t necessary to be rewarded? One can do as they please as long as they believe and feel sorry? What do you think the fruits of that are?

>>16804866Ezekiel 33:19
>>16804866>What do you think the fruits of that are?Domination of the entire earth by Protestant nations circa 1850-1900
>>16804851The main lesson of the parable is that you should not be obsessing over what other people get. It's icing on the didactic cake that the main objections people raise are directly grounded in what it condemns.People have their own circumstances and you are not fit to judge those or the justice of God's judgements on them.
>>16804851>Repent>Go to hell
>>16805122I provided a very simple example and you made it about something else.>>16805128That's a funny typo for sure.

>>16804851It's God's salvation, he can do what he wants with it.
>>16804851There's no merit in anything that may happen in this life. The Iraqi child who saw his family be gunned down and the american who shot them and returned home are humans, with souls, all the same, all capable of every evil and every good and every suffering and every humilliating and every glorification and every title and every thing that is to happen to anyone. There's no safety in this world outside trust in God. In this I find the parable quite comforting both in how it upsets materialists and how it only confirms that the president and the vagabond are one in the same, forced by circumstance into different places
The fundamental rule of Christianity is faith. You must believe and accept the church's control over you and that they speak for God. That's it. The idea that going to heaven is primarily about being a good person is a modern 19th century idea. Has lead to deeper modernism where protestants argue that moral atheists go to heaven... You must kneel to the King of Israel.
>>16804851The fundamental principle of religions is to oppress and control various tribes by providing them with a shared set of beliefs, making it easier to dominate them
>>16804851>How is the workers in the vineyard parable not contradictory?Because it isn't a contradiction. You might think God's rules are unfair but there is nothing inherently' contradictory' here. Either you believe in Him or don't and go to hell.
>>16804866>it must be believed, because it is absurd!
>>16808709What is contradictory is that such a god claims to be: a) wise; b) loving while simultaneously behaving like a power-hungry human would.
>>16805007Do you think a late repentant will receive the same reward as Abraham will receive or Job? They might be speared and allowd in, but they won't be given access to the greatest worlds in heaven.
>>16808716>What is contradictory is that such a god claims to be: a) wise; b) loving while simultaneously behaving like a power-hungry human would.Different set of motivations at play. God is already all powerful. He is not 'hungry' for power.
>>16808120How is that supposed to make sense?
