The Muslims btfo’d both largest empire at the same time in a couple of years. But some illiterate French guy called Charles the hammer succeeded with a band of barbarians where roman legions and Persian immortals failed?

"The Muslims" weren't like, a player in Age of Empires.
They had strained the limits of expansion for the most part, and weren't able to muster either the morale, coordination, or logistics to win against the Franks.

>where roman legions and Persian immortals failed?
their empires were failing anyways. irl units are not like "units" in a video game with flat unchanging "stats"
morale throughout the entire military* was low for the Romans and Persians.

Either that or greeks and calling them romans is 3x more accurate. Rapid change is like a defining characteristic of roman civilization to the effect that it is unrecognizable every 500 years.

That's just a product of the passage of time. No place will look the same over a period of 500 years.

The empires they conquered were basically already extremely weakened and recovering from catastrophes.
Sadly this has given muslims an entirely undeserved reputation of warriors. And yes, as soon as they face a motivated people, they run with their tail between their legs.

it was at the very edge of Muslim expansion in a mountainous area, same reason why Greeks were never fully conquered by the Muslims
Also the Romans and Persians had exhausted each other with endless wars at that time.

Hadnt the sassanid state basically ceased to exist at this time
