I strongly suspect one of the main reasons why they managed to be so successful in the next few centuries was compared to some of the batshit internal affairs of the rest of Europe, they managed to maintain at least a semblance of internal cohesion, even in some rather trying moments like with George III’s madness and the train-wreck that was George IV. And it was a good thing too that the powers of the monarchy was largely defanged by that time, lessening the odds of rolling a 0 on the random fucking game of whether your next hereditary monarch will be a Wilhelm II or even worse
