Were Kulaks really evil?
The kulaks after 1917s landreforms had nothing to do with those before Land and equipment was redistributed, the playingfield was leveled. Kulaks as far as it had any meaning was just more productive farmers

The real fuckery is that in many places that sought to purge "kulaks", actual kulaks (those who owned serfs - basically the guys Turgenev writes about in his Sportsman's Sketches) hadn't been a thing for more than a hundred years by the time communists came to power.

Also Stalin was a based (great) man of iron when he was crushing those reactionary kulaks and the totally real Nazi-Trotskyist conspiracy in the Soviet military but when the USSR was the first country in the world to recognize Israel that was because Stalin wasn't in control.
