I made a thread about 10 months ago asking you guys for book suggestions about the Soviet Union, and I got some great suggestions. I thought I'd ask again, but this time, I'm looking for books on British Hong Kong. I know the rough history, the Opium Wars, New Territory Lease, Japanese occupation, 1997 Handover, but I'd specifically like to read about everday life in the colony.

Another reason I want to ask here first, instead of just buying the highest rated book off Amazon, was because I'd like to try to read something written from a fairly neutral point of view, or at least something that's upfront if it is biased, and that's where I think you guys can really help me.

Thanks, guys.
