Homo erectus was extinct in Africa by the time this population interbred with Homo sapiens between 124,000 and 44,000 years ago. A Homo erectus in Georgia wouldn't have looked like a Homo erectus in Indonesia, Kenya, Italy, or China, let alone any modern human population outside of minor differences that all human species past Erectus would have had. There's even a chance some of them evolved light skin after living in cool climates for hundreds of thousands of years.

If Erectus and black people were anatomically identical, how would Erectus, which is known largely from African fossils, ever have been identified? Are we to believe that scientists specializing in early humans (many of whom were themselves racist, given the period of its discovery) were so stupid as to conflate archaic humanoids with modern Africans, and fabricated a whole species because they had never seen an African skeleton before? The conclusion would've been that sapiens (or at least "the negro") is 2mya old, not that it was an entirely separate species.
