He also wasn't born a Prince, didn't have a father that militarized his state for him. While he died because of retarded decisions like Alex, his name survived far longer, and was respected as a title of rulership for centuries until this day while Alexander has no similar legacy except his generals and friends murdering his children and cutting up his empire to forget about him. Arguably Ptolmey could be considered more accomplished than Alexander.
>>16890824Alexander became king at 20 years old giving him a 21 year head start to Caesar's closest equivalent in his first consulship(or a further year for proconsular) and as the other anon said had a lot of the footwork all ready to go for him(not that it should be a knock against him in general, though Phillip really doesn't get enough credit. On the flipside Alexander did all that in a brief 12 years which is where most of his credit truly belongs, however the biggest bulk of Caesar's accomplishments are in the last 14-15 years of his life. It's an interesting to make with Caesar having the extra time but Alexander the circumstance. Either way both would probably be tickled their given names show them first in a google search.

>>16889767Alexander accomplished more, and would have accomplished more still had he lived longer. He had an immense head start though. While far more mercurial, I feel like Alexander was the greater of the two. Both messed up their succession in my opinion, although both died quite suddenly.
