I have no idea how you could read the Bible and get this as its message. There's an entire book explicitly dedicated to explaining in detail that it's not the case good things happening to you automatically means you're good and bad things happening to you automatically means you're bad (Job).

In general on a societal level however it absolutely is true that more moral societies are going to be more prosperous, all else being equal.
