How did the English Civil War influence the American Civil War?
>>
>>17273266
Weakened the perceived authority of the King himself as a Divine ruler which eventually resulted in more and more of the Crown's holdings to rebel against it.
>>
>>17273266
Did the English Civil War involve a tyrant who waged an unjust war on his own populace who were peacefully leaving as was their right?
>>
>Bacon's Rebellion
>American Revolutionary War
>War of 1812
>Annexation of Texas, AKA Thirty Year's War (1835 - 1865)
ACW was the last conflict of the Greater English Civil War. Change my mind.

Was the South mainly descended from Cavaliers, and the North mainly descended from Roundheads?

It wasn’t they’re right… America is more precious than gold. Leaving America is like leaving family. You don’t get to leave family and not be scorned…

The Cavaliers would've been mortified their (ostensible) ideological heirs were a bunch of Baptist/Methodist republicans whose civilisational raison d'être was ensuring the survival of a system like plantation slavery

>he can't fathom that the Cavalier's hardon for a monarchical daddy became the ideological framework for a bunch of aristocrats building their own personal fiefdoms in the backwater swamplands of the Chesapeake and James watersheds which their eldest sons would inherit as land-based power

>Baptist/Methodist republicans
They werent like that in 1860

Yes Charles I would force people to "loan" him money and then imprison them. He would also force people to pay a levy for coastal defence in the middle of Britain as "ship money". He did this because to raise taxes legally he would have to call parliament which he didn't want to do. When people chimped out at this arrangement he started a fuckoff huge civil war which killed tens of thousands of people.

true

>no argument
Do you think yankees brainwashed southerners into being baptists during reconstruction? Did you forget that republicanism isn't limited to the GOP? At least mention something about the southern elite maintaining their ties to the Church of England while the poorasses succumbed to repeated waves of revivalism. I have no clue if it's even true, but at least it'd be somewhat hard to deboonk. Pic related is the map from 1950.

I wouldn't have to make up semi-plausible bullshit for you to say if you'd just make an argument.

We're talking about the ACW and you're posting retarded "maps" about 1890 and 1950 you stupid fuckwit. Go make your own retarded thread if you can't even follow the OP

>the southern elite maintaining their ties to the Church of England
this was the only thing you got right you absolute retard, and you dont even understand the implications. southerners were very much influenced culturally by the cavaliers in terms of anglican religiosity with a propensity towards secularism, a lax attitude towards catholics, and the 'chivalry', in where the southerners adopted the 'cavalier' look of long hair, slouch hats, mustache/goatee. the entire political paradigm of america pre-1890 doesn't exist anymore, and the south was so radically changed by the civil war that religiously it is almost the opposite of what it was. the formerly secular anglican region became the evangelical bible belt due to being buck-broken by the civil war so hard.
