Why is islam so goofy
>>17273916me on the mid right
>>17273916me on the bottom left
Muhammed was basically a full blown autist, imagine if Chris Chan managed to become a warlord and started his own religion around Sonichu with himself as the Prophet.
>>17273981It's a little weirder than that - he was an illiterate autist making random statements that he believed were in his own personal interest at that particular moment (leading to the multiple mutually contradictory statements and commandments in Muslim scripture), and framing it all in the aesthetics of what little bits of rumour he'd heard about Christianity and Judaism (and at least a little bit of Arab paganism), that has all been reinterpreted and revised through multiple generations of 'scholars' with their own interests to serve.
Problem?
>>17273916It's standard Abrahamic practice to differentiate themselves from the pagans. See for example the autism about mixing threads and dietary restrictions in the bible. I don't see the problem with mentally and physically distancing yourself from other nations. It encourages in-group social cohesion. What really makes a religion goofy is pic rlated
>>17273998>what little bits of rumour he'd heard about Christianity and JudaismThis relies way too much on the standard Islamic narrative. There is no evidence apart from sira and hadith books written 200 years after his life that Arabia was this oasis of paganism cut off from Christianity, Judaism and the trend towards monotheism that was going on even in pagan religions in late antiquity. If you read enough early and relatively early Islamic sources there are too many very specific parallels with Christianity, Judaism, Mandaeism and even pagan Hellenism to conclude that it was some isolated backwater where totemism was still the dominant religion. And there's more and more inscription evidence physically showing evidence of Arab monotheism 100-200 years earlier than the traditional Islamic narrative has it being widespread. Probably there was a centuries long process of monotheizing within Arab polytheism where it became more and more centered around a high god and old star worship rituals like the Hajj were recontextualized in a monotheistic context, eventually getting connected to Abraham and other biblical figures. The old Arab pagan role of the poet-seer (who is possessed by Jinn, themselves an import from Greek paganism) would have been combined with a localized understanding of what prophets from Judaism and Christianity are.
>>17273998>>17274089This process was definitely pretty well advanced by Muhammad's time given the external narratives the Quran references though. It quotes the Talmud word for word quite a few times and retells lots of stories from both the New Testament, apocryphal Syriac literature and the Midrash. And often in ways which assume familiarity with the basic narrative on the part of its audience. If this was a totally pagan society why does the Quran so often skip major story points as if it's only concerned with using the stories to make a point rather than introducing them to an audience that has no clue about them? And how many specific myths from Arabian paganism are referenced in comparison? Practically none. Lat, Uzza and Manat and worship of Sirius is about all you get. If pre-Islamic Arabia was hegemonically pagan there should be a lot more.Tldr the Peninsula was probably largely or even mostly monotheistic in a vague syncretic way well before Muhammad was even born. He was not that unique in what he preached or even in claiming prophecy, just unique in how successful he was politically.
>>17273916You are also forever not allowed to have a big mustache because some specific magi in the area had them.Which makes me wonder, how did the Ottomans justify shaving their beards and grow massive mustaches if Muhammad told them to do the exact opposite?
>>17273916Arabs be like:>I'm white just like Ali and Muhammad
>>17274028… and then god has her judged? Admittedly Ezekiel 23:20 reads like an /r9k/ post but it’s pretty clear what it’s about: if you defile your marriage like a whore, bad things will happen to you and the men running trains on you don’t actually care about you and will leave you with nothing. It’s not actually very complicated or goofy
>>17273916The ideal muslim man have ginger dyed beard but no mustache, have dark forehead and wore yellow shoes
>>17274225Im gonna wear yellow shoes from now on
hmm I have a ginger beard aswell thougheverbeit
>>17274225>The ideal muslim man have ginger dyed beard but no mustacheThats a shia hadith. They're the weirdos of islam. Shias have autistic rules about facial hair. keeping your beard the same size of your fist and your moustache trimmed so that the hairs don't go past the lip. You also cant connect your stache and beard. Imagine the effort you need to do everyday for this shit. No different from women. Metrosexual fruity shit. Persians are zesty like that Sunnis are based they just grow their beards and shave off the stache which is nice and easy to upkeep.
>>17273916To be fair the ginger shit is separate and thsts them trying to larp as Muhammad. They could just dye their hair black
>>17274028>lol it's sex therefore le goofy xDgrow up timmy
>>17273916reminder, Muhammed wanted Muslim women to shave their pubic and armpit hair
>>17274418really? he was onto something here...
Why is Bulgarianschizo so obsessed with Muslims and Islam that he's compelled to make a dozen threads each day across the many boards of 4chan?How overweight are you?
>>17274426just checked, not wanted, it's required
>>17273998He heard a lot about christianity because he spoke with nestorian christian and gnostic traders, that share view of islam on jesus. If he really wanted to make Islam a religion for himself he'd make it hereditary, like the shinto religion of Japan. Instead the caliph is chosen by righteousness
>>17274121>indian passportnice try ranjeet
>>17274400>lol it's sex therefore le goofyCorrect.
>>17274430How do you know he's Bulgarian?
>>17274274>keeping your beard the same size of your fist and your moustache trimmed so that the hairs don't go past the lipThis is also a thing for some Sunnis, I think it's just a madhab difference. Not all of them even say that shaving the beard is haram, it's only makruh in Shafii fiqh.>Metrosexual fruity shitUnlike the hundreds of pages Sunnis wrote about how fantastic Muhammad's sweat smelled, how his face was as beautiful as the moon and how big his muscles were right? Or the Sunnahs of wearing perfume, using henna, being so insanely OCD over bad smells and filth that a single drop of urine is supposed to make you worry about the torment of the grave. Grooming in a hyperspecific itemized way. Islam in general is fruity as fuck and all of the rules are autistic. Nobody outside the religion cares about Arab vs Persian slap fights.
And using eyeliner lol. Forgot that one>In a number of Hadiths it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used kohl and commanded others to do so. For example it is narrated in the Musannaf of Ibn Abu Shaybah (may Allah have mercy on him), from the Hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to apply kohl to his right eye three times, and to his left eye twice. This Hadith was classed as authentic by Al-Albani in As-Silsilah As-Sahihah no. 633. And it was proven in Sunan An-Nasa’i (5113) and Sunan Abu Dawud (3837) and elsewhere, from the Hadith of Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best of your kohl is ithmid (antimony), for it makes the vision clear and makes the hair grow.” Certainly not both zesty and autistic
>>17273916all semites are goofy
>>17274616kohl can be used for sun protection retard, not just for cosmetic reasons
>>17274632Which one do you think it's used for when someone is applying it to their eyes? This is not some mysterious lost artifact of the 800s either, you can see men in the Muslim world using kohl as a sunnah today and they wear it as eyeliner.
>>17274639>Which one do you think it's used for when someone is applying it to their eyes?To protect their vision from the scorching sun? They didn’t have sun glasses in the 7th century
>>17274652>They didn’t have sun glasses in the 7th centuryThen I guess the idea of immutable sunnahs is retarded and something that was practical in the 7th century is zesty and pointless today and should be abandoned right?
>>17274654Moving goalpost
>>17274277Black dye is haram
I have a naturally rust colored beard and I get Muslims asking if I dye it all the time. I never knew why they asked until now
>>17274225>yellow shoes
>>17274089>standard Islamic narrativeeverything you wrote is correct but these islamic revisionist guys really need to stop using calling it this so they could say its a SIN, so cringe
>>17274443>implying there is a difference between jeets and arabs
>>17274789>historical criticism disproves their desert fairy tales but not oursSaid you both. There's a good reason nobody serious in Islamic studies, not even the Christians, goes around talking about how sinful and satanic Islam is. Either HCM is valid or it isn't. If it is then it has absolutely nothing to say about what is the true religion and it's as applicable to Christianity as Islam and vice versa. If it isn't then you guys should stop appropriating it when you playing your silly missionary vs da'i games
>>17274089>The old Arab pagan role of the poet-seer (who is possessed by Jinn, themselves an import from Greek paganism) would have been combined with a localized understanding of what prophets from Judaism and Christianity are.Can you share some sources which talks about this? This peaked my curiousity but I can't find anything when I look it up
>>17275185I'm not the anon you're asking but you can find the info you're looking for in the Genius mythology.
>>17275185Ahmad al-Jallad for the inscription evidence. Any number of Islamic studies people for Christian and Jewish influence. Guy Stroumsa for extra-Arabian pagan influence. David Gordon White for Jinn being Greco-Roman daemons/genius if that is what you meant specifically.
>>17274225Is the yellow he refers to like a spongebob-yellow, or closer to a natural sand or beige? Would they have used dyes on footwear?
>>17273916This is what it looks like when you dye your beard with henna properly. The henna sticks onto the grey hairs and the rest washes out. Dunno what type of henna those subcontinent guys are using looks like they bleached their whole beard and hair first then applied dye. SAGE
