What caused women's fashion to become so ugly in the 1920's?
>>172740071920s*sorry guys minor spelling mistake
>>17274007Curvy-skinny cycle. The dresses highlight the flatness similar to low rise jeans.
>>17274007Designers get bored and try to experiment with fabrics, dyes and styles. Just look at the god-awful 60s and 70s.
>>17274083Peak fashion desu, you're just not fit enough to rock it.
Edward Berney https://www.apa.org/monitor/2009/12/consumer
>>17274114i'm not saying it didn't have its moments but i prefer pic rel, yes, bell bottoms but the rest is pretty chill, not like >>17274083
>>17274269fuck forgot the pic
>>17274007Because after ww1 american cultural dominance started to take over.before hand ladies fashion was dictated from paris, london etc. but the jazz age saw a over take of american fashion which was provincial, tasteless and crass. unfortunately jazz was a african ameican phenom and so started the unfortunate trend of black culure being seen as 'cool' and adopted by whites. but at the same time white women didnt want to be associated with black women so they purposely selected fashion that promotes zero curves, zero booty, and short hair. That way they could act like negros with their hash smoking, alcoholism, casual sex and jazz dancing but still maintain themselves as betters.
>>17274612>act like negros with their hash smoking, alcoholismYeah it was definitely them negroes who popularized smoking and drinking in muh pure EVROPA lol
>>17274626for women yes. It was african Americans who popularized this. find me the European equivalent of this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3-LXo9dLLIdoubt that you can.
Jews.
>>17274662>find me the European equivalent of this song?lmao you prudes really have no idea do you France has PRIDED itself in being a sex addict country ruled by party animal degenerates, we're talking about the Sun King's Court here, not even some post-1960s thing. Kings flaunted their mistresses with their tits out in royal balls. Versailles was worse than a high school when it came to petty relationship drama, casual sex, STDs running rampant, and useless rich people doing nothing beyond hedonism. They even had to make the King's personal fucktoy an official court position with room and board and everything. If anything is American here, it's the Prudishness.
>>17274269>>17274276Yeah that's fire. Bell bottoms with a tight top looks great if you're lean and have medium or long hair.
>>17274783why are you comparing the famously immoral and vulgar french in the 18th century to the famous moral and elegant Belle Époque? The american 20's was a return to to the vulgarness and immortality that had been largely bannished in europe during the 19th century up until ww1. Even then the degeneracy wouldn't really seem into europe until the 30's, particularly in Wiemar Germany and amongst the Jews and gypsies of Paris but luckily the nazi's suppressed and banned a lot of that shit. but then the american hippy shit invaded europe in the 60's and it all went to pot again.
>>17274007lack of taste(on your part)
Women's fashion never recovered from corsets and stays going out of style. All this bitching and moaning about body image shit is a direct result of ditching the elements of fashion that alleviated the need for a perfect body. You didn't have to have a perfectly trim waist if you wore a corset, that was the entire fucking point of the corset.
>>17274007Its a reaction to the exaggerated silhouette of the 1890s (the peak of fashion btw) which hugely exaggerated womens natural form. So androgyny mixed with post-WWI "liberation" of women in urban areasAlso Eddy Bernays and others like him saw this as an opportunity to introduce women to more masculine products, as pointed out by >>17274167>>17275746Its absolutely awful that women still buy all that bullshit about corsets damaging internal organs by design. It only does that if you abuse it, like anything else. Corsets need to make a comeback
>>172740071920s fashion is hot though
The Jews mostly. As expected.
>>17274007>What caused women's fashion to become so ugly in the 1920's?It wasn't ugly, but the goal was comfort after the constrictive fashions of Victorian era.
