what is the difference between the Dao and Qi?
>>
>>17274202
Dao is like why you do shit and qi is internal energy
>>
>>17274202
Qi is energy while Dao is just the way of the universe.
>>
They're both the same. Commie horse shit.

Before neoconfucianism qi qas just some chinese medicine
Later Zhang Zai introduced the concept of qi to neoconfucianism and basically defined it as the stuff the universe is made of. The world transforms according to the Way, but the qi is that which transforms. Basically where the stoics and Heraclitus said the cosmos was made of fire and that everything was transformation of fire governed by Logos, the neoconfucians said that everything was merely transformation of qi governed by the way or principle. Qi is the thing that is alive and the way is the principle that life obeys and causes life to transform in the way it does
