The current theory is that basically anyone who is part of the financial elite is by default a masochist. So rather than rational explanations like "they understand English" which obviously doesn't apply here, a kind of masochism makes sense. Like if you really, really fucking hate a people or humanity in general, you would want to jeetify as much surface area as possible where actual humanity exists.
