I find it incredible how much amusement Americans got out of the existence of black people for most of their history. It seemed to wholly define American humor, especially in the South, throughout the entire 19th century and even into the 20th century. In literature, in theater, in film, in advertisements, etc. It was the funniest shit in the world to them.Did they really just never get used to them in all that time?
Americans are still not over black people. Who do you think Tyler Perry's popular with?
