Is this true for the other occupied people in the Soviet Union as well?Did more of them fight AGAINST Nazis than for them?
Ukrainians proportionally paid a bigger price than the Russians themselves on the eastern front, the wide spread of this myth blows my mind
>>17411326>no trust me dude they fought TO be genocided by me>no trust me dude they fought FOR their own genocidebroken wehreboos found friends in zfags
>250,000 Ukrainians fought for the Nazis.Based!
From reading plenty of German veteran memoirs, Ukrainian population was consistently friendly with them
>>17413428the Ukrainians were defenseless villagers and the Germans were literal nazis
>>17411326So does that mean Ukrainians are part of ruslimchink khaganate instead of being aryan defenders of evropa? Why did they lie to me?
Well that number hides the fact that a lot of Ukrainians were very happy about the holocaust and supported Nazi efforts but not to the point of officially joining the German armed forcesCollaboration was widespread in Ukraine Anyway this is the big tragedy about Ukraine There were so many Ukrainians in the Red Army, they fought bravely on the front-lines and yet Ukraine doesn't want to claim them, just like most other post-Soviet nationsInstead for a long time they were more interested in those whose claim to fame was killing other Soviets/PolesBased on the way the Soviets acted in occupied Germany I don't really blame them lol
>>17411326>occupied people in the Soviet UnionUkraine was fully a part of the Soviet Union>>17411407It doesn't help that modern (west-)Ukrainian nationalism and European Union liberalism both build on the idea that the Soviet Union was the anti-Christ and the Holodomor was an intentional genocide of Ukrainians.
>>17413789>Ukraine was fully a part of the Soviet UnionDue to Bolshevik invasion yeah
Maybe what muddies this -- enough for dicklords to exploit -- is that Banderites have a bit higher profile in today's Ukraine than Sovietists. Makes it easier to mistake the actual history as being anti-Russia, pro-fascist. Of course that's sort of missing what Bandera represents to Ukrainians today even if they're fooling themselvesWith all that said I'd wager at least 96.9% of Ukrainians today spend their days seething about, muttering about and/or shooting at fucking fascists. In Russia the Patriotic War is a state mythos, while in Ukraine it's quite alive.
>>17411326>over 7 million fought againstWhere does that number come from, 6 million jews + 1 million ukrainians?
>>17415903Dumb fuck.
>>17413448Flyora was a Belarusian bolshevik who went out of his way to join the partisans and initiate hostilies against the Germans before anything even happened, nobody forced him to dig out the rifle, quite the opposite everyone was yelling at him to stop this lest he gets them all killed(he did). Come and See is not this morally black and white movie.
>>17413448Belarus (which was notorious for every village being either conscripted into pro-Nazi or pro-Soviet, and would suffer reprisals from the opposing sides)You should watch The Ascent, another film about Belarus partisans (made by the wife of Come and See director)
