It's actually insane how many Frenchmen served in the SS and how many collaborated with the Germans and yet France is still seen as a victim of the axis. They changed sides harder than Italy did.

Roosevelt was also advised by Jean Monnet, a notorious anti-France french that ended up creating the EU in another to dissolve France sovereignity and ultimatly succeeded where Roosevelt failed because US because public opinion liked De Gaulle, Churchil and him were buddy, same with Eisenhower and french managed to cross the Rhine and de facto occupy a piece of Germany.
