Three problems because of which I will never be a christian. Number one. No meditation. I feel empty inside. My life has no meaning. Only when I meditate does that crushing weight of nihilism cease and I find happiness and serenity. Number two. Contradictions. The "gospel" is absolute contradiction with itself. "Faith alone does not save" says the book of James. "Faith alone saves" says Paul. Fuck off with this bullshit. I'm done. This point, number two, is the biggest one. Number three. I won't give all my possessions to the poor. Not gonna do it. I'm not rich, but I don't want to give so much money to some poor people. I need my money. Nearly no christian of today would ever give all his wealth to the poor. End. These three points absolutely destroy Christianity for me. What about you?
>>17415703No amount of faith and love will save your ass if it is full of shit. In other words, your good intentions and self-righteousness can’t hide the fact that you’re sinful and not in the habit of doing what is right. Even the Pharisees were experts at this.
>>17415714You might believe that, but I find great joy in righteousness apart from this Christ saviour figure that you cling to. I can say that I am righteous and would not lie. Can you, christian?
>>17415703>Number one. No meditation.>Meanwhile there are bible verses that recommend meditation.k
>>17415726Share at least two. I know the one where Isaac or whoever goes to the field to meditate. But christians don't meditate traditionally at least. Only Jews do.
>>17415739>And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.>The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.>But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. And the mention of the pineal gland here>And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
>>17415748That's Hebrew, "Peniel" doesn't really have proof that it means pineal or related. The other stuff is just prayer it doesn't say anything about trance states of deep absorption. I mean, christians don't meditate traditionally. But I have to say, there is catholic meditation called presence and another called prayer of quiet so Christianity does have meditation. Although it's not what I need. The second point though in OP post is the far bigger one.
>>17415719> I can say that I am righteous and would not lieway to immediately prove the other guy right
