Early Church leaders like Origen physically castrated themselves on account of this verse:Matthew 19:12>For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.Question is, should Christians still be castrating themselves for the sake of Heaven? What if figures like Origen were right and those who don't are all hellbound?
>>17416030We are not hellbound if we repent and follow Jesus Christ. Also, we were never commanded to cut off our genitals. Some Christians take up extreme interpretations of Bible verses, and end up seeing things are were not originally meant to be there. Origen, while well-intentioned in his piety, may or may not have done such a thing as cutting off genital parts, but that too could simply have been a charge by his ideological opponents.
