How did this country go from the most innovative society in the world to a society that is stuck 30 years in the past so suddenly?
>>17416171America pulled the rug out from beneath their economy when they became too big for their britches. Once the Soviets were gone, there was no need to play benevolent conqueror anymore. Also>stuck 30 years in the pastThat's a good thing. Life was objectively better.

>>17416177>life was better when you communicated via fax machine and stayed at work until 9pm for no reason except to not let the boss see you leave before them
They were innovative in ripping off and then making their own spin on it, but they've rarely developed anything past that. Also they put their entire bets on stuff rather than industry and doing things (crappy services are bad but service economies are not bad on their own) and refused to ease consumers back into spending, rather allowing the very cheap and terrified old people to keep things as deflated as possible. It's a similar story to the Republican-leaning union states of Indiana and Kansas, where industry is still tepid post 2007 and society starts at 35.
>>17416197Unironically yesI never got the fax machines hateThey are kino
>>17416206>an email you have to print out>kino
>>17416197they still do this you fucking idiot. businesses still communicate via fax like massive fucking retards and are expected to attend drinks after work once the boss decides to leave at 8pm. you have no idea because unlike me you don't actually have experience of Japanese people or society.
>>17416211>gook reading comprehension
>>17416211What lil' Junichiro gon do if I leave work before him?
>>17416211>unlike me you don't actually have experience of Japanese people or society. My NTR visual novels playtime says otherwise.
>>17416197Yes. The reason you're so gay, retarded, and depressed is because socialization used to be a necessity for something as simple as obtaining information. Now everyone is an asocial freak who shuts themselves in and stares at screens every second that they aren't working.
>>17416230>staring at screens bad>staring at printout of the screen good
>>17416231>meeting a woman in person and going out on a date:/>forming a parasocial relationship with a faceless tranny over the internet and jerking off 3 times a day:0
i have been watching a lot of japanese channels on youtube and it's not as great as the weebs claim it to be.evertyhing above tokyo is deeply rural and the winters sucktokyo is a giant ant farmthe south may be okJapaneses are really drones with a fucked up view on labor. the only more fucked up view is the koreans.
>>17416171Demographic collapseIn other words, they can’t breed
>>17416238>trannies out of nowhereSeek urgent psychological help.
>>17416171It's a total chore to innovate when the whole system is stuck in legacy hell. Like, half of American banking is still bumbling around on COBOL or some shit. No surprise the new players that can build stuff from the ground up are already way ahead.
>>17416171people act like innovation is always some ideal linear curve, if you're good at one stage of innovating you're able to magically keep pace. that is so obviously not the truth and so divorced from reality. here's what happened>entire world economy gets reset by world war ii>british hong kong is flooded with gooks from the mainland, creating a practically infinite supply of cheap menial labor>korean war happens and the us blockades most of the chinese coast>at basically the exact same time, japan's occupation by the US ends and they have the money and labor to steal hong kong's spot as "country that makes a bunch of shit we need way cheaper than anyone else can">japan innovates for ~20 years, mostly in early consumer electronics and appliance tech, but things slow down dramatically as technology becomes more complex and requires more capital to R&D competently>meanwhile gookland decides 90% of their population being poor shit-eating commies isn't making up for the fact their "century of humiliation">japan's economy is so out of control that even slight intervention from the US in the mid-80s causes a near-instant collapse of the entire house of cards, ruininig their labor potential for good>gooks take over, japan is relegated to relatively niche luxury good industries while china now manufactures 90% of the same shit japan did, who themselves had manufactured 90% of the shit british hong kong did>china is fucked, japan is slightly more fucked, british hong kong is completely gone
>>17416177The Plaza Accords were one thing (along with the forced sharing of industrial secrets and the like), but the rise of China/Korea/Taiwan also were brutal for Japan. Korea and Taiwan manage to squeeze them out of cheap computer electronics manufacture. China then came on and took over the heavy industry. Japan was in a spot where they were becoming expensive from a labor cost perspective, while their well-educated neighbors were still in the 'cheap labor' phase of economic development. Korea is still relatively cheaper than Japan for labor, to this day. Taiwan hyperspecialized, but to its advantage because no one, globally, let alone in Japan, can compete in their corner of the IC market.
I don’t think they are 30 years in the past. They still dominate in zoomies’ and gen alpha culture. Everything feels stagnant because growth and globalization was so rapid in the last 50 years
>>17418036TikTok and gacha dominates zoomer culture and that's Chinese.
