In AD 367, King Ermanaric, the ruler of all the nations of Germania and Scythia, executed a woman as punishment for her husband's treason. The method of execution was by having her tied to horses and making them run in different directions so she was pulled apart.

Classic drawn and quartering strat (typically saved for traitors, because they wanted to tear the kingdom apart so they found a fitting punishment). Ivan the Terrible was also fond of it
