I was against the idea of the jury because most of the people aren't in my opinion competent enough to make a verdict. But...
Recently I sued someone and the judge in my case is actually dumb. Important thing is that I am Polish. Judge is mentally stuck in 1980 Poland and I will have to sadly try to explain him things, without "insulting" his ego. If I fail I will have to waste another half of the year in higher court. In this case jury would be better in my opinion, due to people mostly knowing the conditions around them. Not a higher caste of mostly wealthy judges born from upper-class families. That made me think, isn't jury actually better system? Of course a good judge would be better than the average jury, but isn't jury better than average judge given verdict?

The point of a jury is to prevent the justice system from being used as a weapon by the state. It's easy to corrupt a judge who has a career on the line, not so much 12 random guys who don't give a shit one way or the other. Juries being retarded is a feature, not a bug.

I favor the jury system because justice is not always best served through wrote adherence to law. A jury can, for example, choose to not convict a person of a crime even in circumstances when they obviously are guilty. This can be done because the Jury may not believe the accused did anything wrong, by for example murdering immigrant who wrapped their daughter.

Whenever I am on jury duty, and the defendant is black, I always vote guilty no matter what. I see it as keeping my community safe, understood? Because of that, I favor the jury system.

OP here. Another horrible thing is that I have to wait almost half a year for a trial. How long it takes for civil cases in your countries? Like in Poland to fucking evict someone, it takes almost a year.

The same a judge can do and in extreme cases in US, the judge can override jury verdict and take it to a higher court, as far as I am aware. Chance for jury being anti-justice twice in a row is much lower than for 2 randomly selected judges in my opinion.

If you fixed your education system it would be cool and federally outlawed beating kids.

There is no group of people who follow Moses law except for orthodox jews and they denounce Christ

It depends on the rules for jury selection and the power of judges. Compare the US legal system to Civil system found in countries influenced by Roman Law.

Most of us don't live in a former communist cunt where the justice system consisted of Soviet show trials where you go into the courtroom guilty until proven innocent though.

That would be cool. Because I am the one suing. Sadly it's innocent until proven guilty.
