Why is polygamy never outright forbidden in the Bible?
>Well, the Bible implies…
>Whenever polygamy appears, bad things happen, and…
No, I don’t care about that shit. Why is it not strictly forbidden? Half the book is about sexual laws and marriage laws and defining degenerate sexual behavior, but polygamy is never outright condemned once, despite there being endless relevant moments in which the Bible could do so. Jesus himself never outright condemns polygamy, despite him obviously knowing many ancient Israelites were polygamists.

In fact, the Bible actually outright demands polygamy in certain instances, such as when your married brother passes away without offspring. You are required to take his wife as your own and impregnate her. Obviously, this requires marriage since fornication is a sin.

So if god hates polygamy, why does he never condemn polygamy? And why does god actually require polygamy if god hates polygamy? Explain yourself, Protestants.

It isn't wrong. Certain Oriental Orthodox Churches in Africa for example allow non-clergy to practice it still today.

Problem with the the majority of the church is that monostasism was associated with Christianity during the early church due to monks and priests like St Benedict, Paul the Hermit, St Augustine, Saint Nicholas, ect being the ones to preserve the religion. So often they taught it in the form as they were taught while entering the clergy, which is that a priest should be married to only one wife.

I personally think this is very unfortunate as I believe this pushes many people away from the faith who cannot be content with only one woman, and women who crave a man who is with many women. As a result those people just do it outside church in sin and are called wicked. The Bible's explanation on marriage is clear: marry if you cannot contain yourself otherwise.

If you can contain yourself it's best to not marry at all.

The bible isn't a law book about polygamy or something. It's a written testimony about who God is and what he wants for you in this life and how he has something better planned for you in the next.

Nice cope, retard. The Bible has entire books that are just rules and laws, especially about marriage/sex.

It is though?

Why are you specifying Protestants? I'm a Protestant, I find polygamy distasteful but it isn't forbidden or a sin
