Mormons in Utah are an ethno-religious group like the Jews. Pioneer men who came over in the 1840-50s had many wives, and so a small subset of men spread their genes throughout the population. Until the 1920s or so, the main groups of immigrants who came in via missionary conversion were from Britain and Scandinavia. If you look at Mormons currently living in Utah, you can easily see a distinct lack of ethnic and phenotype diversity.

It would be ideal if that were true but Mormons are aggressive proselytes so any apparent ethnic uniqueness is by circumstance. If given the opportunity they will immediately racemix themselves to extinction, whereas Jews have many halakhic barriers specifically to prevent this.
