Why does every society revolve around ancestor and history worship?
Because doing interesting things yourself is hard so you try to vicariously have pride in things other people that look like you have done.It's a bitch ass cop-out.

If a large group of society desires to move away from this they usually just worship another type of ancestor. No cultures have moved away from this and starting from scratch just never happens
