The NSDAP did believe they were talking about Indo-Europeans with the word "Aryan", but:1. "Indo-Europeans" in German is literally "Indogermanen", which can suggest to people a special connection to Germanics2. The Corded Ware culture was considered the primary candidate for the PIE homelandOn account of this info all of their views and attitudes actually make intuitive sense.
