How can anyone seriously still be a communist in this day and age after these two things happened?
>>
>>17958599
They usually say that the current system is unsustainable and that an economic crash or some other capitalism-induced catastrophe is looming, after which there will be another opportunity for communism
>>
>>17958599
communism is when you don't worship hitler so technically almost the whole world is communist, Marx won

Imagine if Lenin were suddenly transported to North Korea, what would he even think?
>>

A communist monarchy—he would be shocked that this was even possible.

Especially since communism in Russia would never have come about if it weren't for the fall of the monarchy.

Let's hope the Norks execute him by firing squad.

The russian thing was an inside coup, and china is still socialist. Only marxism-leninism is a monolithic ideology (and that's still to a relative degree). As long as you believe the economy should benefit the people by measures by and for the people, you are a socialist.
Or so they say in general.

>not real communism
>well if i were in charge it wouldn't have failed!!!
>we just got our prediction wrong, but don't worry we'll be entering the final stages of capitalism in two more weeks
Take your pick.

There are fascists in this day and age and worse things happened to them
>>
Because that "wasn't real Communism"

Athenian democracy- the first known attempt- was vulnerable to demagogues, gave no rights to a large portion of the population, and didn't last very long as democratic in any meaningful sense. Does this condemn the concept of democracy as a whole?

How is this different from modern "democracies"?

They've remained stable longer and at least have universal suffrage and no legalized slavery? They're not perfect, just less bad than other forms of government.
>>
they cling onto china because its all they have, even though the chinks are state capitalists, the Chinese political program is more similar to Mussolini's italy than communism

anyways, its like asking why are there still nazis after 1945.

capitalism really, really sucks, and while marx may have been wrong in some instances, he was right about a lot of things too

"stable"

Wow I sure am glad I can vote in meaningless elections where my vote barely affects anything anyway.
>And no legalized slavery?
Wow, I'm sure all those Amazon workers will be glad to hear that they're not slavels LEGALLY.
>>

How many coups do they face per decade on average compared to non-democracies?
>Wow I sure am glad I can vote in meaningless elections where my vote barely affects anything anyway.
If your vote didn't mean anything they wouldn't be trying so hard to prevent you from casting it.
>Wow, I'm sure all those Amazon workers will be glad to hear that they're not slavels LEGALLY.
Their job sucks, but I have never met an Amazon worker who says they would prefer the lot of a chattel slave.

The bottom one vindicated communism
>>
Because communism sounds good on paper and appeals to commoners the most.
It's actually kind of dark, since they create their own suffering by propping up communist authoritarian states
