Post artists/drawings you find have great anatomy/skill to study and share methods of drawing anatomy in perspective

do you have a warosu link?

It may have been during the time warosu was down. 2 or 3 years ago. Lots of redliners came to play that day.

But why? That picture is awful. It doesn't "read" as a human body. Even if it is technically, optically correct, it looks wrong, and that's what matters. I will never understand this board's obsession with violent perspective distortion, as if some perceived "difficulty level" is what gives a work of art its value.
Anyway, if you want to see difficult foreshortening done well, check out Michelangelo's Last Judgement, or some of the engravings by Hendrick Goltzius.

Maybe so (this is actually one of the less egregious examples of Goltzius "walnuts anatomy") but nonetheless the foreshortening is effective and it you can tell even in thumbnail that it's a human figure seen from above.

Dynamic poses are such a paradox
On one hand, dynamic poses showcases an artist's skill
On another, it turns off viewers precisely because it look strange and weird

The views that these poses gain does not justify the difficulty of making them

The only time Dynamic poses are welcomed is during action sequences. Dynamic poses are welcomed because it produces slick angles but even then, do it too much and it becomes dizzying

How do you learn to use perspective and do dynamic pics like this? Loomis doesn't teach that.

He kind of does, he goes over camera lenses and distortion briefly. It takes non-retard IQ to truly understand his books.

A pose can be dynamic without crazy foreshortening and bodily contortions.
Drawings like these are just about doing difficult shit for the sake of doing difficult shit. And as >>7080160 states often without regard for readability or aesthetic appeal. Though perhaps as you get better it might be helpful doing a few of these if only to challenge and to prove yourself.

I'm just saying that he does mention it, he doesn't tell you how to use it in the way you want but that's how art books are. They give you concepts of things and then it's up to you to run with it. This requires mid-/int/ level at the minimum.

Just because a pose is dynamic doens't make it appealing or inherently good.
There are objectively bad dynamic poses as there are objectively bad standing/idling poses.
Just because you picked a pose with lots of movement, you didn't win the pose picking phase and aren't entitled to praise for your dynamic pose pick.
Pick better poses.

She does. It's just facing forward while her foot is facing 90 degrees away from it. The problem is the bottom leg being broken.

>thinking that diagram has fuckall to do with what he's talking about
That's drawing basic figures in realistic perspective. He's talking about making exaggerated "comic perspective" drawings in a way which still look believable. As in, if you were to extrapolate a 3D model from the drawing and look at it from a different angle, it would look all fucked up despite appearing correct in the drawing.
Like the what 3D animators sometimes do to the 3D model to get the shot they want - as in pic.

>>7107177
>>7107155
>>7081554
>get a grasp of basic perspective and figure drawing
>study photos with lens distortion/fisheye
>study 5 point perspective
>learn to push your gestures to the extreme without being afraid if the proportions are correct
>copy other artists who've done these types of drawings
>wing it
The reality is there's no technical way of doing this correctly, because it is inherently incorrect. It's like looking at a flat, graphical Total Drama Island character and trying to draw their head using traditional Loomis construction. You just need to get a feel for it and a sense of when what you're doing looks good and when it doesn't.

It's how I draw
>>
I think I'm done. I don't want to measure and calculate and study anatomy. Any time I want to draw, I come up with something and think "this is going to take me hours of pure pain and torture to construct" and I just don't want to subject myself to that. Its like realizing one day that your job sucks and you just walk out. I just lost all desire to draw because I I'm tired. I'm tired of constructing and learning.
