There has to be something that we're not doing right.

His first post he tagged some unpopular fox lady and he draws well, but that doesn't explain how he got so many followers.

I figured the trick out for this. Just have another account that does have followers and just retweet your own shit. It literally does not have to be an art account, just talk about your hobbies or whatever and you'll grow a following.

My brother talks about weed and fantasy football and he gets a large engagement and followers. So if you really love a fandom, just be real dedicated on that account, retweet things you like. Posting your art in a void is a losing game and kissing someones ass is a waste of time.

I started doing this as well. And i was only able to get about 120 followers this month. Can you share some tips?
>>
>>7135780
either account is popular from some other website and known some people or just extremely luck like most account that gain 40K+ followers in half a year.
>>
>>7135793

You just have to share good stuff and your perspectives should be interesting takes I guess. Just treat twitter like 4chan lite and don't be afraid to speak your mind on the topics you like.

So instead of spending 100% of your energy sharing content on this site (as you should know, only very small percentage of people here would fall under the content creator i.e making OPs, sharing images, etc) while everyone else lurks, you should put 50% of your efforts on that account.

More like 100%. Subu is probably the best artist on /ic/ currently, and that really says something. Everyone else has left, even teal.

mystery solved
people just really want to believe that it takes something besides having good art to get followers because if that's not true it means they suck.
This is a 200k follower artist some day, it's no surprise he got 30k instantly

Nat the lich doesn't even post here anymore, also I'm better, i just hide my power level
>>
>>7135780
>that doesn't explain how he got so many followers.
I know a guy that bought his first 10k followers and grew organically from there. He talked about a snowball effect where people follow popular people just because they're popular. Most humans act like sheep after all.
>>
>>7135954
Tableguy is better

a pose, but I also want to see both boobs in there with both nipples and she's smiling, like making a pose with her hands and if you can also show a bit of pussy (just a bit) and she's looking straight to the camera with heart pupils

name 10 /ic/ posters better than subu right now
>>
>>7135780
I always assume these people are just established artists in a community with friends and, for whatever reason, deleted their shit at one point and upon coming back all their friends immediately followed and continued engaging with them.
>>
>>7141685
Nat, bbcchan, firez, marmlade, pantsu, wamu, lunydoodles, unironically tableguy, ribosoma, slurpnuts.

>anime style
>lewd pinup (safe enough to not get trigger by NSFW flag)

there
was going from 0 to 40k in 6 months that impressive for Twitter? Surely this happens many time
>>
>>7141770
those people don't post here anymore. except for bbc,
i don't like any of them anyways, i'm better.
>>
>>7139387
Yeah to me it is certainly a joke. But let them cope. Looking for ways to gain popularity instead of focusing on their craft. Honing their own skills and getting closer to their own vision. Possibly they don't even have a vision to begin with.
The popularity and money might be what drives them meanwhile I just want to live up to my own potential. To make the visions in my mind manifest.
You're absolutely right though.
Your product is what matters. It's what attracts the audience.
You put out good work that stands out from the rest; you get followers.
You're a mediocre artist; you'll be just another amateur lost in the algorithm.

Inb4 anyone gives me shit for this.. I don't care. Not gona come back here and read it. Take my advice or don't but know if you don't it's your own loss.

There's some stupid shit out there like picture related that's doing consistently well compared some if the low number artists that I like.
These might not be the best examples but people like low-grade mingu, and thekid_art. Are ranking in that cash. Mingus being the highest example.
