why do 80% of characters face towards the left?
>>7152558because most people are right-handed
>>7152561can you explain?
>>7152633It is easier to draw a "(" curve than a ")" curve from the right
>>7152558fixed
>>7152651this looks wrong somehow
>>7152645ROFL
>>7152713it's just as "wrong" as the original.
>>7152645I think my brain is fucked up.Do you guys drag more than you push? Or is it about equal?
>>7152558Because we read from left to right. So you'll naturally make eye contact with a left-facing character while reading the image.
>>7152717he's not wrongI remember watching a video about a some chingchong manga nigga and he drew all of his portraits facing to the left and then had his assistant flip them horizontally in the actual chinese comic panels
>>7152633For the same reason why something looks good when you draw it but then flip it and you see balance issues.
>>7152766never push, that's stupid
>>7152766draw a left facing face, then a right facing face. Right handed people have a much harder time with the right facing face
>mirror my drawing>looks like it was drawn by someone with parkinsons during an earthquake
>>7153057>The Parkinson's and the earthquake counter each other creating immaculate lines
>>7152558who's the artist?reverse image search gives nothing
>>7152558Majority of people are right-handed and right eye dominant. I'm right-handed and left eye dominant, and I find my figures tend to face towards the right
>>7152558because art is Leftism
>>7152651my brain hurts
>>7153326Almost sure it's this guy https://twitter.com/all_yellow777/media
>>7152561This. I'm left-handed and all my characters face toward the right.
depends on the direction you read/write.if you write from left to right then figures facing to the right tends to project more energy and confidence - that's the historical portrait norm.facing from right to left is the opposite - unless you write/read from right to left.so you're either sissies or kikes
>>7152651retard forgot to flip the canvas while drawing, baka
>>7152558>>7152651If you mouse over OP and the reply back and forth it looks like she's dancing.
>>7152558looking to the left fetish
>>7156655closer to the truth, its definitely not because its easier
>>7152785He makes no snese. No matter what way a chracter is facing, you can still make the pose in a way where you'll have to draw more ")" curves. What he said makes ABSOLUTELY no sense.
>>7156627wtf is this sorcery oO
>>7152558this made me curious, so i tallied up all the characters i've drawn in the past year. (n/a = front-facing or looking away from the camera) i'm right-handed btw
>>7152558why does it matter?
>>7157721left handed and i overwhelming draw facing right. i can find 1 left facing and 4 front facing out 20 sketches sketches ive done
>>7157712Lmao honestly
>>7152720nope
>>7152558Some art teacher taught me that WE (Occidental people) SHOULD face our character to the right, because of how our culture has condition us to see Right as Forward and unless our character is experiencing struggle, Right is the wayAnd Orientals tend to draw characters facing Left because they seem unaffected by that weird cultural glitch. So I guess we are just weebs that somehow got conditioned by another culture
Is that so?I counted the character I drew for my thread47 face right 19 face left
>>7152558>finish drawing>realize this happened again>flip drawingThank god for symmetrical design characters.
