Can someone give me some pointers on how to add some character to my characters? I can draw a mannequin, I can draw a pose from imagination and then refine it with reference, I can do some basic shapes to define how the character is gonna look, but then when I want to add some detail and/or props I go completely blank.

>>7158794You have to actually want to create a character, when you're making a good character you aren't trying to make a 2D fuck doll or a brand avatar for your cringe pngtuber channel. You want to make someone that lives in a world and has a purpose. You don't just add detail because you think "alright time for detail", you add detail deliberately to convince the viewer that this is a living character that has a past and is rooted in a real world. You should learn the fundamentals of basic visual language, shape silhouette economy of detail etc. But the character and world you want to make should be something that interests you and comes from you.

If I can't tell what your character's personality is by looking at them in a neutral position, then it's a bad OCIf I can't tell who your character is by their silhouette alone, then it's a bad OCIf your character is ONLY appealing because it has nice tits or a nice ass, then it's a bad OC
