I wanna try doing more cel shaded stuff. At some point I stopped doing them at all so I wanna get back into it. Any advice or tips for creating appealing cel shaded stuff or doing a mix of it and painting?
>>7211442I would start with excessive area shading and then sculpt the excess shade away with soft eraser and avoiding completly sharp and straight edges in round forms
>>7211442pulled up this thing I did a while ago. this is the most bare-bones and easiest way to cel shade I found so take with a grain of salt. Hope it helps
>>7211453someone drop me some redpills on multiply and overlayit just...works so whats the catch??
>>7211444Do you know what cel shading is?

>use a very dark color to add shadow to your character>use a very bright color to add light to your character>select the shadow area and then use the burn tool on it>select the lighting area and then use the dodge tool on it>ower the opacity of the shadow and lighting layers to your likingI've been doing this for a while. I think it looks fine.
>>7211453tried it out
>>7213255You can go darker than this. Check your values and the check them in >>7211453
>>7211455Catch is it doesn't always look great, and if you choose the wrong color for a scene, (for example, yellow on a night scene background,) then it looks wonky. It's like shading with grey but colored, looks dull. Choosing your own colors is a learning experience and looks a hundred times better
Yeah
