I'm kinda wondering about my strengths and weak points are?AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT BEING HARSH!Please be honest : - )>>7276434This is already looking awesome, it would be baller when finnished!>>7276200You need a coherent vision>>7275191Everything seems nice except the stiff poses. I think having better line of action would help>>7274490Not gonna lie, this comes off as pretentious to me. I don't know what the point of the concept is at all.Sorry for the bluntness.>>7273052Soul! You just gotta improve your comp and stuff like that. I'm not really smart enough to tell you how, sry...>>7272042Sick! Please finnish. I'm begging you lmao
>>7276974I would say your strengths are in your use of color and facial expressions. Seems to me that perspective and composition are you biggest weaknesses right now. Looks like you are going for stylized illustrations so I'm critiquing it with that in mind. If your intentions were different then some stuff may not apply. Maybe a bit more foreshortening on the sword would look better. The red phones and red apples with wings(?) overlapping make things unclear. Not sure what the red thing behind her is meant to be either. The bottom left one is very hard to read. The extreme tilt and wonky perspective make it hard to tell what's going on. Paying close attention to the silhouette (pic related) should help with the overlapping stuff.Depends on the style you want but I think thinner lines and colored lineart would look better. The top right one without lines has nicer shapes than the others (although the shadows could be darker), combining both would look good.Their joints look very strange. At first I thought it was just bad anatomy. Took me a while to understand that they are dolls. The wind-up handle and joints could stand out more to make it more obvious. In general the backgrounds seem lazy. For quick and easy ones, just use compositional design elements like in these videos:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=073GcVycjLUhttps://youtu.be/lk_2Z_ygBbg?t=15
>tfw when you got two drawings in the opAlso I hope I didn't post this one already, can't remember.

>>7278554Honestly just, thanks for the critique bro. It's really a big help! The silhuettte / clarity thing might be my biggest issue I see.But some nice things to work on for sure!>>7278614It feels like there's 3 different focal points, with the hand the hammer and the face.I know making characters faces look at the main focal point is a pretty good technique.ØSo I would makehim look at the hand for example.>>7279137Awesome! It's really a great style for yugioh paintings imo>>7279586Actually spooky! NICEI'm no good with comp, but if I were to critique I would say put something very close to the camera for depth, or give some more space between the camera and the rocks for like a "I'm getting closer to these gross rocks" kinda feel... Hopefully that makes sense lol>>7280517I'm having trouble figuring out what he's thinking here? >>7281797oh yeah sure. i can trace back my art journey to the artists that influenced me.Starting out reading manga i loooved bleach so i did alot of copying from tite kubo. Then a major influence one me was Ayami kojima, you are correct, big turning point for me. both her and Yoshitaka amano have too very, "complimentary" vibes, i tried to take the aspects i liked from both of them and try to emulate them. i also love Kazuma kaneko. Now here's the most important for me, When i started more seriously studying art, a Biiiiiiig turning point for me was an artist called Jun Suemi/Gen Jun Miya. Painting never made sense to me until i started analyzing his breath taking work, if i had to point to an artist and say "i wanna be like him" it would be jun suemi. if i ever forget how to paint faces or something i just take a glance at his art book. And now currently i just look at my twitter feed and bookmark the stuff i find interesting, plenty of good artists on twitter. here are some of my favorites : wendys008yuming_Lijidaart>>7282306thanks

>>7283632I personally think it's like 90% finnished (aka not enough just yet, but basically there)Alot of things still seem very undefined, as in unreadable. But I think simply just making more defined edges / silhuette on stuff would take it to 100%.And a lil extra thing I would do is to make the cloth more blurry at the front. Here's a overpaint I did to show what I mean:https://files.catbox.moe/lyme0y.pngI barely touched it but to me it already looks alot better. >>7315479That skull is beautifully drawn anon, lots of power and expression in those lines, especially the nose and orbitals. I do think that the flower looks weird from the bottom tho mostly because the petals are moving downwards and I think the back of them would show from that perspective, not the front
>>7316373I’m wrong, the bottom would show, but I still think the flower’s relation to the skull is a bit off. It’s hard to tell exactly where or how it’s laying on the head, and I think a stronger relationship besides just showing the flower would be better
>>7276798I made this Pokemon fusion of Intelleon and Sceptile. I was wondering if I could get some help with the color palette :) I know the linework is rough, its my first digital drawing in a few years. I wanted it to give a lot of Gex energy.

>>7320308Looks great at a glance but...>Double ended coke can>"GRAITII">Lockbox numbers warp and repeat>Garbled text on warning labelIt'd look better and you'd learn more photobashing and painting over it than letting AI do all the work for you
>>7321500Believe me there's plenty of photo-textures in this piece, but it's true I did use AI to post-process and manipulate them. (If there's one thing I've learned from experimentation it's that working with pure AI imagery will usually give you crap results).I'm disinclined to worry about making the text ultra-legible because I'm planning to do some post-processing to the image that will probably make it a waste of time. Of course, I'll have to see how it looks and make a decision at that point. I am aware of the coke can and it will be fixed, it just slipped my mind when I exported this image, probably because it was 1:30 in the morning.
>>7321667Not too bad actually seeing you've put some decent work into it. Not nitpicking the details themselves but the use of AI to skip hand-polishing the environmental art. I reckon AI can have its uses but I would still recc painting over photobash because it's good exercise. The linework I see on your figures so far would look great for environmental art.
Any STALKERs here?
>>7321704Honestly, if I wanted to get a painted effect I'd have done it the old-fashioned way, but I've been experimenting with "photorealistic" textures and simulated camera effects lately, because I'm interested in the effects I can achieve only with digital media.DESU, I'll probably go back to traditional art after this for a while. This technique is far too intellectual and tedious. It's not much fun, honestly, but it might be useful knowledge for matte paintings and that kind of work.
>>7321730Holy shit, that pic is tight. Also don't wanna seem knee-jerk on the AI topic lmao, that original pic you posted has me reconsidering learning photobash+AI just as a extra tool for specific use cases. Reminds me of the photobash stuff I saw in in old MAD magazines, still slop but useful slop if you just need to crank out a "photoreal" style image. Sounds like a good sidehustle for corpo clients

>>7321747Well, my day-job involves a lot of photo-manipulation and editing, so I've been curious to see how I could apply it to my artwork. I flop between wanting to experiment with this tech, and just getting fed up with digital and doing everything on paper. But I can confirm, having photo-manipulation skills is very useful in the graphics job-market.
>>7313711I'm sorry bro but you need to trash the background. I can't even tell what anything is in the background. I thought those leaves on his left were enemy corpses. Try making a forest again on a black canvas. Look for a reference. If you live near a forest go take some photos at an angle that matches your picture and use those as a reference. The comfy part of the first image is the curling fog and dark forest looming. I think making a clear space of fog around him and showing the light off his arm illuminating the darkness would help focus and draw the eye. (Ignore how it clumps above his head instead of behind his back)
